Ok. Just inquiring......Of course it applies to both.
Dumb thread either way. The OP is better than that

Every time I see you post/comment, I think the exact same thingThis thread perfectly, and I mean perfectly, explains why the Cowboys fanbase is considered the most clueless in all of professional sports.
Fans that simply don't understand the game they are watching.
I always look back at Tony's era and regretted leaning on him so much.Great post. Very factual
Don't really want to argue this as we all know those teams from 2011-2013 were truly awful...with terrible o-lines and defenses and one even having the 32nd ranked defense.Unfortunately for Tony..
and this is not intended to start a fire..
to really look at Romo and where he had his problems..
you have to remember 3 straight years of 8-8 and missing the playoffs.
During that period there was never anymore than one win in December and the last game was always a loss.
So wins against winning team is fine.
Wins of any kind in the season during the last month would completely change Romo's career.
As would his losses in playoff games against Seattle and the Vikes.
I always thought lack of defense was the issue for Romo and not being better regarded.
Dak has experienced similar stuff lately. Hope it does not take 10+ years to figure out if it's going to end like Romo.
Just saying. I am tired of not seeing us win.
What the????? Dak didn’t come in with The Tuna as his head coach. Dak didn’t have Witten and TO in their primes. What are you talking about? The only thing you could give Dak the nod with is Zeke. But Marion Barber and Murray weren’t far behind in terms of production. You people need to stop. It’s sickening.I always look back at Tony's era and regretted leaning on him so much.
He did everything he could given the team placed around him.
And by 2016, they had finally rebuilt the OL and replaced DeMarco Murray with Zeke.
Romo's injury also ended Dez's run in Dallas.
You have to wonder how Romo would have done with the team Dak inherited.
I bet Tony has.
But got to see how things have worked out for him. If CBS pays his new deal out..
he will have a fantastic ending to everything.
Happy for him.
Agreed.Don't really want to argue this as we all know those teams from 2011-2013 were truly awful...with terrible o-lines and defenses and one even having the 32nd ranked defense.
But some of your facts are wrong, red.
1) Dallas won 3 December games in 2012 and
2) Dallas won it's last game in December with Romo at QB in 2013...game-winning drive at Washington week 16 (but then lost the next week with Orton when Romo was getting back surgery)
But whatever. Those were bad years with surrounding teams far worse than this year's 8-8 group, overall.
fwiw, the best statistical Cowboys team performance in the entire month of December was in 2014....when the surrounding talent was much more like this year's group.
Defense in 11 was 14th. 2012 it was 19th, then was 32nd in 2013. Our D was 9th this year. Better, but not that much better. D was only truly terrible in 13.Don't really want to argue this as we all know those teams from 2011-2013 were truly awful...with terrible o-lines and defenses and one even having the 32nd ranked defense.

I was on board with you until you inserted the “Tean Dak inherited” bs. That’s just another way to belittle Dak.
DWare was amazingDefense in 11 was 14th. 2012 it was 19th, then was 32nd in 2013. Our D was 9th this year. Better, but not that much better. D was only truly terrible in 13.
And it actually makes it truly amazing what DWare did w/ so little around him.
Against winning teams?
Does this mean anything?
Same holds true for Dak as well? Right???Yeah it means teams with winning records usually have good to great pass defense and teams that don’t usually lose. The Cowboys were consistently bottom ten in pass defense most of those years.
It also means that Tony didn’t block very good on the offensive line and that he wasn’t a very good tackler on defense and he missed a lot of easy field goals and his drafts and front office work were just awful.
So yeah - it means Tony Romo lost games and I’ll never get these five minutes back responding to this thread.
It was awful. We watched it fall apart right in front of our faces, and Jerry had no clue it was coming. I'll never forget the looks on both Jerry's and Stephen's faces before the 2012 draft when asked about the need at DT. Neither had a clue that we had a need there. Facing one of the deepest drafts for DT's of all time, we traded up for a CB. It was a move that was strange beyond strange, and showed beyond any doubt that we just didn't get it.DWare was amazing
I think we all agree that one of the worst D's in Cowboy history was that 2013 group. But the 2012 group was fairly awful too (19th total defense and 24th scoring defense).
And those offensive lines (especially in 2011 and 2012) were historically bad. Almost comical except that it pretty much ended the QBs career by the accumulation of butt-kicking. Keystone cops
By the looks of the list......seems like maybe Romo wasted some of Garrett's years too.
I ask this because Dak gets the credit for this teams lack of wins against playoff teams this year. But Dak had the same head coach as Garrett......yet....its Dak's fault?

I do wonder I’d Dak not using his feet more is a Garrett thing a Moore thing or a Dak thing I guess we will know more in 2020Team game.
Judge the QBs by how they play, not the results of the team. Particularly if we're looking at responsibility for the team record *compared to* the HC, who actually is responsible for the whole team.
Tony generally carried the team.
I'm not blaming Dak for this season. Dak costs us against the Eagles, but just shouldn't have been playing because of injury. Playing injured players who can't play is on the coach, not the player.
Are there any particular games we're supposed to be blaming Dak for?
The only blame I'd have is that Dak didn't use his feet enough. When he doesn't run, we lose, and at times I thought he had runs he didn't take. 4 games, <2 carries, all losses. Close games, too. Margins of 2,3,4,8. Mostly low scoring. We needed an extra edge.
Crappy conditions against NE. Low completion%. Brady couldn't do squat either. Run the damn ball. That's your edge against Brady. The poor conditions actually favored us. We've got the QB who can run.
What’s dumb about it? I let you guys read it and come to your own conclusion about it. Not sure how it’s any dumber than the 100th thread on the “Hot Boys” or another “Dak sucks thread”.Of course it applies to both.
Dumb thread either way. The OP is better than that

It’s poor coaching. Especially in New England. The conditions were poor. Should’ve been a run first game plan against a great secondary and crap weather.Team game.

I'll be the first to admit I was angry that Romo didn't get his job back, I think that only getting one drive against the Eagles was telling. They didn't want him going up and down the field causing people to question the decision even more.It more so came when Dak took his job. Or when Garrett gave it to him. Which ever you feel happened. The year Dak took over a lot of fans turned on him when they didn't put Romo back in once he was healthy.
Respect. And I understand it. I’ve been there as a fan. But I feel like you can separate the two and like both or at the very least root for Dak to do well regardless of how you feel about him.I'll be the first to admit I was angry that Romo didn't get his job back, I think that only getting one drive against the Eagles was telling. I know the point is moot now and it doesn't matter now. Could I subconsciously hold that against Dak some? Sure, I'm a big enough boy to admit that. But it doesn't mean that I don't root for him to do well now.
