I would literally take any defense from 2006-2009 over any defense from 2016-20019. I can’t think of any one thing Dak’s defenses do better than the 2006-2009 defenses did. They don’t pressure the QB better. they don’t force take aways better, they don’t create more short fields, they don’t score as often.

Can you remember something these recent defenses did better?

Nope. That's why I laugh when the romosexuals claim we had no talent etc etc.

Ever player in Garret era are tainted by Garrets Process.

Garret has ruined Dak who came to Cowboys a very good QB..

    Either 2009 or 2016. They're pretty similar.

You joined this board in 2018. I joined in 2005... You can believe whatever you want.

And that proves what? You think anyone who joins the board today hasn’t been a fan?

Your memory of the 2016 playoff game was incredibly wrong and it appears you are simply looking at overall rankings to draw your conclusions on the defenses. Do you remember the defenses or are you just looking at a stat sheet? And if you do remember the 2006-2009 defenses, what do you think the 2016-2019 defenses did better than those defenses? Don’t give me a ranking, explain how they were better?

The 2016 defense was pretty much on par with the 2014 defense. One forced one 3 & outs and the other forced more turnovers but they were about the same. They both were protected by the run game and they both gave up 1.89 points per drive and the both got torched in the playoffs by an injured GB team.

Yeah and the 2009 defense let up 34 points ultimately.

Yes, you're right 352 points is the same as 306 points... same defense.

It proves that I've been here discussing these games long before you arrived.

You need to sharpen your memory AND your research.

The 2006-2009 defense gave up entirely too many points. You'll notice that they hardly ever came up big when it mattered which put the onus back on Romo to do so.

There's a reason why Romo has 24 fourth-quarter comebacks and 29 game-winning drives and one of the highest QB ratings in games lost.

I'm done going back and forth with you on that.

They gave up entirely too many points? On a per drive basis they gave up fewer points. They were protected less. But you still have me a stat. What didn’t they do that Dak’s defense apparently doesn’t? Coming up big when it matters certainly isn’t it. I’ve already stated Romo’s early defenses got more pressure on the QB, they created more take aways, set up more short fields, scored way more TDs than Dak’s defenses.

What do you think Dak’s defense is so good at?

Also, just because you have been here longer than I have doesn’t mean you have been discussing Cowboys football longer. At any rate, it appears you have a very fuzzy memory.

Yes they did but they were hung out to dry by our top 10 offense that couldn’t hardly do jack and turned the ball over multiple times. The defense just didn’t get blitzed right out of the gate like the 2016 defense did against GB. This is why I feel you just have your nose in a stat sheet but don’t recall a lot of details in these games.

Revisionist history at it’s finest ever. Romo goes in that booth and people forget what he was on that field smh.
