I don’t like his post play celebrations especially when they’re behind by 20 pts but you’re wrong about him repeatedly avoiding contact. His # of tackles (seeking contact) prove you to be wrong.

Go find another post from a few days ago on Smith. Lots of video evidence of him playing matador there. Then rewatch weeks 6-17 and key on 54. Also set up an appointment with your eye doctor. Enjoy your day.

And you go look up the definition of what a tackle is in the NFL. He had 83 solo and 59 ast tackles which ranked 6th in the NFC.

I am all for Jaylon Smith, his causes, his contributions, his desire to make himself wealthy and inspiring the underprivileged, his background. I have zero issue with him endorsing everything from condoms, wack sunglasses, widgets or whatever.

However, I am not for #54 Jaylon Smith.
One of the absolute worst LBers I've ever seen in 2019: who drives an Optimus Prime - level hype-machine 24-7/365, completely lacking self awareness, discipline, and courage while reminding everyone what's in his Lady Gaga inspired haute couture wardrobe.

I've said it before: the first time Jaylon looks like the player he was this season in 2020, I'm unloading him for a bag of Giardetto's and a pineapple Fanta.

I am torn on this stuff. Clearly the intentions here are a good thing. I have completely flipped on Smith though. Any other player I would like this. Smith? Just seems phony to me. This guy is all about his brand and image. I wish he would have mastered football a few more seasons before diving head first into this stuff. It seems like such a distraction for a guy that repeatedly avoided contact as a NFL linebacker. I see more of that this coming season and I will be convinced the guy isn’t serious about football but is really serious about being Jaylon Smith.

Am I wrong here?

I don’t mind off the field interests by Jaylon. What I mind is that he does not have enough “dog” in him on the field. Think Ray Lewis.

Post of the day right here. In fact a Mt Rushmore post. Hysterical.

Na man, if hes doing something positive for others/community theres no needs to discredit him.

I feel ya though when it comes to his brand.

I think he needs to get his head back in the game. If his goal is to be wealthy he's achieved that. If his goal is to be an all time great and win a superbowl he has miles to go.

The biggest problem we interpreted this year was the impression he have us that he has already arrived. He seemed too content during a losing season, in which he missed a ton of plays.

I believe next year will define him as a player. We are going to learn a lot about Jaylon next season. Im very interested to see how some of our more nonchalant players take to this supposed new brand of coaching and accountability.

Too many on the team seemed way too content during losses and with failing to make the playoffs

AGREE TOTALLY!! That's why Michael Bennett spoke out screaming at these players! He was right and you are right. Too many times during a bad loss and afterwards, you see players act unaffected by it...just unphased, joking even...no fire, no anger, emotionless. Where the hell was the outrage from other players? Why was Bennett and MAYBE a small handful of guys, the only ones mad as hell? Its a culture problem and another way you change the culture of the players is, you make an example out of someone. PLAYERS BETTER WATCH IT! We gonna see a couple surprise cuts and trades. I see it coming a mile away. MM has indicated as much if you look at his scorched Earth house cleaning/and hires on staff. He means business.

So if chiefs lose Sunday is that Mahommes fault for doing commercials?
I care about their play on the field
I care about illegal activity off the field
I don’t care if they use their position to make money for themselves, charities or anything else

How can a guy who what’s 6th in tackles in the NFC be crapped on for avoiding contact? What the hell?
It's called actually watching the games. How many videos have been uploaded here showing him whiffing on tackles and / or totally avoiding contact???
Obviously you've chosen to either not watch them or just totally disregard them for your own personal agenda.

I have no problem with JS doing what he can to empower the minority community. The condom thing is a head scratcher though...

He really seemed to move away from the craft of football to branding and business after the contract. I also flipped on the guy. Everything he seems to do annoys the piss out of me. Good cause but I agree seems phony.

Seal teams have been using condoms to waterproof gun barrels for years. And when it's time for action, you can shoot right thru them.

I would first look toward the D line. Offenses got to the second level often.
