zeke did it, why wouldn't he? tank withheld surgery and now with a new staff and a scheme change, hes suddenly has some leverage because hes missing learning time in the new offense..Dak won’t miss any time. This is all posturing. Silliness really. He’s not about to miss time as the leader and with a new HC and offense to install.
It deepends on what the team could do to replace him, but replacing him would be difficult. Some fans act like a team just has to decide to go get a top QB and it automatically happens, but it really isn't that easy. You can't seriously believe this statement, that was for drama right?
So anybody here still gonna call him a "Team Guy"? Hes just like the rest; all about the Benjamins..........if he doesn't show up. Could just be posturing
I do not care one bit what he does or doesnt do in the offseason. Make no mistake, they will tag him and if he wants to sit out and then have to watch his image take a massive hit, let him do so. He better start looking long term. Aikman and Romo both make big bucks post career. Let Dak look bad and watch his endorsement money start to dry upDak Prescott won't commit to showing up, if he's tagged

Bob, how you know Dak is asking for $40M?
I dont recall Romo as being never available.
Yep... too risky for Dak. Stick any competent mid-round QB who can hand off to Zeke and throw to wide open receivers and no one will even remember who Dak is in a few weeks. Remember, even 3 time MVP, first ballot HOFer Brett Favre was petrified about letting another QB take his snaps... hence the amazing streak.Dak will show up and he will play. If he doesn't, one of the backups will come out and show that any half-competent QB can win games in this offense and then Dak loses all leverage at anything long-term. That's why, if you noticed, Dak never comes out of games regardless of how injured he might be or how much we are winning/losing. Doesn't want anyone else to show they might be similar or even better.
It's the same thing we should've done with Zeke. Hopefully Jerry realizes the mistake.

I've seen this kind of argument before, but realistically, how many teams have a backup QB that is actually very close to the starter in talent? Fans act like that's how it works with other teams, but it really doesn't. That's not to say that a lot of teams don't have a backup that is better than Rush, but it's rare for them to have a backup they would feel good about stepping in as the full time starter. There aren't even enough QBs at that level to cover the starting position for all 32 teams, much less both the starter and backup for all 32 teams.
Isn't that what you meant by the problem with the negotiations is that the Cowboys don't have anyone of consequence behind Dak, so the team will fail if they don't sign the guy being negotiated with? If not, then your point wouldn't make sense because having a backup that represents a significant drop in talent from the starter wouldn't be a player of consequence, or a player that can help the team play at a high level if the team didn't re-sign the starter.Close to the starter in talent? You must be talking to another poster.
Dak has never said he was seeking 40 milWe knew this was coming .
Dak is worth 28-30 million , and is asking for 40 million . He will hold out, he saw what Zeke did .
