What sports do you play (or have played) as an adult?

Many people played sports as kids of course, but I thought it would be interesting for everyone to share what sports you play or have played as an adult (meaning after high school .. college counts).

It may be interesting to find out some of people here enjoy some of the same sports you play or played in your past.

I will share some of mine once I see people are interested in this topic.

Last time I played organized sports was my first year in the Marines. I played on the battalion football and basketball squads. Before that played two years of JUCO hoops

I played College baseball (UT) then seven years in the minors, two of which were in the Mexican Minor League. Once I finally played my way out, I turned to competitive(corporate sponsors) softball that traveled the country.....mostly C league but some B. A league is for fat guys who only hit HR’s

As age began to catch up with me, it slowly progressed into beer league ball. I still play some even though I am approaching 50 in the not so distant future yet I still am better than most of these young pups

I play more golf now than anything and do a lot of scuba diving if that is considered a sport. I would love to get into Curling but that isn’t found here in Houston or SoCal.

Scuba diving is a hell of a lot closer to a sport than golf. Golf is a game.

Well, I have never gotten injured diving but golf has landed me in the hospital by a ball to the dome

Golf requires a lot of precision and practice to get even marginally good. It can be hard on the back and other joints. Just because most people play just as well when they're drinking doesn't necessarily mean it's not a sport.

That said, I haven't played in a few years, but I do play golf... poorly.
I used to be on several volleyball leagues as well.
Played some softball when I was in my twenties.
I'm curious about adult kickball, but I don't have time to commit to a team sport.

Soccer
Flag Football
Laser tag / Paintball (out in the woods, not indoor)
Basketball
Disc Golf

I've considered recently joining an adult Kickball league. Seems like it would be fun...especially if beer is involved.

Of all of those listed, there's only three of them I'm any good at. The rest I'm mediocre or bad but they're fun anyway. I have no idea how I'd be in Kickball, but who cares? It's about the experience.

Basketball for exercise mainly. I used to like being near the boards as a youngster, now I'm very comfortable with my non jumping "jump" shot on the perimeter.

Kickball seems like it'd be a blast, doesn't it? I used to love it when I was a kid, and I was pretty good at it too...which is probably why I loved it. Of course now at age 55, I'd probably do a Charlie Brown and be out of work for a week. lol

I know I would try to blast that ball to impress who knows and blow/pull something. Just like when random gfs/wives show up to pick up games. Tempo goes from 10 to 100 like you're going to win someone over

On the individual side skateboarding if you want to call it a sport. Some people don't. It's definitely something that takes athletic ability.

About 15 years ago I played a couple years of coed softball. I was ok at it (much better at pee wee & little League baseball when I was a kid). Struggled at batting opposite handed in that my swing looked ridiculous but I was able to hit it just enough to get it over the infielders heads a lot. I stopped as I got pissed at my teammates after the last game of the year and decided I wasn't going to play anymore.

Played rugby in college, more drinking and fighting than playing...it was a small school. As dumb as it sounds, I just stick to lifting weights now, sports are a bit more risky and I can’t afford to get hurt due to my job.

In my latter 20s got into playing in a adult flag football leagues here in OKC, played up until I was about 48 years old. Played with and against some well knowns, Kelly Greg{nice wheels for a big man}, Wes Welker{not super fast but quick as all get out, super nice guy too}. Charles Thompson and a scattering of ex Sooner players. Had some great times and was in pretty decent shape.

Played football until I was nearly 30. In an amateur league, but still taken seriously as you cant play football without practising regularly.

These days I am down to golfing 2 or 3 times a week but in the past, I played a few others.

All I do is walking now but it is competitive as I try to get to the bar before happy hour is over.

Used to play flag football, softball, basketball, racquetball and tennis and skied in Idaho. I don't know if hiking and river rafting are considered sports but did that in Idaho as well. Man, do I miss that lifestyle now.

I've lived on two different golf courses and not played. Used to sit on the veranda, in Idaho, and watch them hit their second shot on #1 and listen to the cussing. My wife remarked more than once that she sure was glad I gave that up, golf, not the cussing, she knew better.

The last time I played, she was driving the cart and tried to run me down, had warned me several times about the cussing and the temper and I ran out of warnings and fortunately there was a deep sand trap and I led her into it and she bogged down. I had to have them come get the cart out of the trap and they didn't ask for an explanation as she'd walked back, got in the car and gone shopping, as I was to find out later.

So, I had a choice to make. Stay married, and we were technically newlyweds of less than a year, or continue to suck at golf but excel at cussing. I never really liked golf, didn't like anything about it but the 19th hole. I always thought the costumes people wore to play the game made them look like they should be on an Easter egg hunt.

After high school baseball, I got into sponsored tournament softball as well primarily playing third, but also first when needed. My team traveled around the region playing in C and D tournaments and we placed in many of them. Every so often we would play in an A/B tournament, but what you said is true (and funny since always thought the same thing) .. those leagues are mainly filled with teams full of big/fat guys that only hit home runs.

As I got older and my work life got more demanding, I could no longer commit to the regular practices and tournaments for several months out of the year, so I started playing more rec leagues. I haven't played in the last couple of years though, but hope to get back into it after I move and get back in playing shape again.

A friend hit a 3-wood about 100yds behind me but he was on the opposite side of a wide fairway. Needless to say that he yanked it......hit me right on the brow bone. Anywhere else in the vicinity and I might not be here
