basketball and softball through my 30s and mid 40s. Played tennis until I messed up my back on the court.

Now I live through my grandkids. I always played catch and helped my oldest grandkid with hitting and pitching. I would catch my oldest grandkid throwing session until last summer. I purchased a new catchers mit and a face mask because I knew he had been throwing hard. We were warming up and then he got on the mound. He through a 90 MPH fastball that ate me up. He followed that up with a slider that scared me half to death. I knew then I was done. I took my facemask off, took off my mit and said lets go home. I cant do it anymore.

I have an eight year old grandson and I have no doubt he will play major league baseball. He lives and breathes it. He has played up with 10 and 11 years olds and is the best player on those teams. I remember watching Joe Niekros kid play ball down here and not knowing who he was at that time saw that kid was going to be a major leaguer. My grandson is about the age I saw Joes kid. He is going to play major league baseball.

Played football for 2 years in college. Afterwards, I mainly played softball, racketball, squash. I continued the softball well into my 50's.

Now, I spend more time cycling, skiing, snowshoeing, and scuba diving
I forgot to add that, for a few years while living in Australia, I played in a senior Aussie Rules League. Incredible sport! Unfortunately, I tore my rotator cuff - first real clue that I wasn't aging well.

Nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a grandson who has a cannon. And he's 7!!!! Last year in Tball he got accused of being too old to be in the league!!! Funny thing is, the lady who was crying about it had a son who was 7, n mine was still 6 at the time!!!!

It's been a complete renewal of interest for me teaching him the basics. After one year, I've already got the kid where he can catch the ball on the outside of his glove double play style!!!!! I've always liked teaching this method, as it helps the kids w/ focus and hands.

We retired close to ski areas in Colorado & probably ski less now than when we lived much further away. Ha
I know what you mean, I live in the golf capital of Texas. The population of Horseshoe Bay is published at 2K, they have 7 golf courses and I don't play. My buds that are avid golfers gave me the strangest looks when they find out where I was retiring as I am pretty much anti golf. Good way to spoil a nice walk.

I actually didn't pick this place as much as the proximity to Austin. I did buy a boat, first timer, to give myself a reason for living here. So now when asked, I tell people I live here to be close to my boat.

The elbow snap sounds brutal

Wasn't fun. It happened during a training session. A guy about 30 lbs heavier got pissed off or raged because I tapped him earlier and he went too hard and went full force with a kimura. I didn't even have time to tap.

I shredded some ligaments and tore off the tip of one of the bones in my elbow. It sounded like someone shredding paper. People heard it on the other side of the mat.

Ha...I just hope I’m still physically able to snowboard and hike when I retire. Out of curiosity, what ski areas are close to you?

I played indoor soccer in adult leagues in Austin up until I was 35 or so. Haven't played many sports since. I would play Tennis (my high school sport) if I had people to play with.

Loveland and Eldora are about an hour. Breckenridge, Keystone and Arapaho Basin are about 1.5 to 2 hours... Close enough to run over for day skiing and still sleep in your own bed

Nice! My parents started renting a place in Breckenridge for about a month over the past few years during late July/August to get out of the heat. Gives myself and wife a free place to stay so we’ve been doing a lot of hikes.

I didn’t realize how much more crowded Breckenridge and CO is in the summer compared to winter but I guess it makes sense with school out and a lot more things to do instead of the expensive winter activities.

TBH, I love Breckenridge but the summer was a but of a turn off due to the crowds, I wasn’t expecting that the first time.

We love hiking... Unfortunately, Breck can be a zoo during the summer months. Lately, we have headed over to Grand Lake (can still be crowded with all the boating activity) and Winter Park for summer hiking.

I train in karate usually once a week. I enjoy it but it's mostly kata ive taught about taking private lessons in boxing or muay thai or both and possibly competing as a amateur if I get good enough. The only problem is I'm 34 and at the twilight of my physical prime. Also
I can't afford to miss work because I have a broken jaw or concussion. It is rare but people do die in boxing.ive also considered taking a grappling art such as bjj and a standup grappling art such as judo or Russian sambo but grappling can be dangerous too.
I just regret not participating in sports more when I was a kid. I played basketball for one season when I was a kid and did two years of track and field in high school

Golf- hardest sport/ game I ever tried to play and I am terrible. The problem with golf is I hit a good shot and I think I can do this. Then the next several shots are off in the woods some place.
