What sports do you play (or have played) as an adult?

A friend hit a 3-wood about 100yds behind me but he was on the opposite side of a wide fairway. Needless to say that he yanked it......hit me right on the brow bone. Anywhere else in the vicinity and I might not be here :omg:
You would have been safe playing with me, as long as you stayed in the fairway. You get into the deep weeds on the right side, you'd be in a shooting gallery.

My Dad ask me one time on a par 3 over water, "aren't you going to use a water ball"? I said" hell, they're all in people's yards down the right side of the course". He laughed his butt off but I wasn't kidding. No one ever asked me how many holes I played, they asked me where I ran out of balls.

I'm sure there is something I'm missing.

This happened about ten years ago but I am not convinced it was an accident but he keeps saying it was. A few months before what we call “the incident”, I basically ruined his clubs, wallet, cell phone and other amenities. We just left hole #9 and almost to #10 but I realized that I left my 6i by the hole(don’t ask why I had it out of the bag there) and swung around to go get before someone steals it.

Well, once I hit the top of a hill, I jumped out and ran down to get my club. I thought I locked the brake but I did not. The cart started rolling downhill to a lake at the bottom. Here we are.....both chasing it from a different direction and I just missed the bumper by a few inches. It took a plunge into the lake. I was surprised it was that deep, that quick. The cart was 90% underwater and my friend stripped his clothes and dove in to get his stuff :lmao: It was too late for most of it except the clubs. I just waited for them to come tow it out. It took him a few weeks to get over it and we laugh to this day. Such a shame it wasn’t on video because we would be YouTube stars

Come to think of it, I snowboard once or twice a year if that’s considered a sport. My dream is to retire near a mountain so I don’t have to travel to do it.

I'd call it a sport. I've never done it on a mountain but I used to ride in the 90's. Even soul carving, as my friend and I called it, requires coordination and physical ability.

I play golf with friends....in my 20s and 30s I played softball and flag football. My issue post 40s was my afib from my heart virus at 30. It rarely happens and I can work out and am healthy but quick adrenaline rushes might trigger it. Not dangerous but I prefer it not happening

Softball from the age of 18-40. Finally threw my arm out. Played in college in intramurals, then rec leagues.

Football: College intramurals, then from the age of 19-36 we played touch every Sunday during football season. At 36 I tore my ACL, n doc told me no more football.

Tennis for sport. Also basketball, racquetball, and volleyball, all rec stuff.

Less and less
:muttley:

I decided not to play 4 years of college football, basketball, or baseball....though I had the chance at D-1 for two of the three. (Science and college sports are not very compatible, time-wise. Plus I was not good enough to ever be a pro)
Later:
Baseball
Basketball
Softball
Surfing
Karate
Diving...certified but inexperienced
Snowboarding...not often enough
Golf...not so hot at it, but try
Tennis

All I do is walking now but it is competitive as I try to get to the bar before happy hour is over.

Used to play flag football, softball, basketball, racquetball and tennis and skied in Idaho. I don't know if hiking and river rafting are considered sports but did that in Idaho as well. Man, do I miss that lifestyle now.

I've lived on two different golf courses and not played. Used to sit on the veranda, in Idaho, and watch them hit their second shot on #1 and listen to the cussing. My wife remarked more than once that she sure was glad I gave that up, golf, not the cussing, she knew better.

The last time I played, she was driving the cart and tried to run me down, had warned me several times about the cussing and the temper and I ran out of warnings and fortunately there was a deep sand trap and I led her into it and she bogged down. I had to have them come get the cart out of the trap and they didn't ask for an explanation as she'd walked back, got in the car and gone shopping, as I was to find out later.

So, I had a choice to make. Stay married, and we were technically newlyweds of less than a year, or continue to suck at golf but excel at cussing. I never really liked golf, didn't like anything about it but the 19th hole. I always thought the costumes people wore to play the game made them look like they should be on an Easter egg hunt.

I played College baseball (UT) then seven years in the minors, two of which were in the Mexican Minor League. Once I finally played my way out, I turned to competitive(corporate sponsors) softball that traveled the country.....mostly C league but some B. A league is for fat guys who only hit HR’s

As age began to catch up with me, it slowly progressed into beer league ball. I still play some even though I am approaching 50 in the not so distant future yet I still am better than most of these young pups

I play more golf now than anything and do a lot of scuba diving if that is considered a sport. I would love to get into Curling but that isn’t found here in Houston or SoCal.
After high school baseball, I got into sponsored tournament softball as well primarily playing third, but also first when needed. My team traveled around the region playing in C and D tournaments and we placed in many of them. Every so often we would play in an A/B tournament, but what you said is true (and funny since always thought the same thing) .. those leagues are mainly filled with teams full of big/fat guys that only hit home runs.

As I got older and my work life got more demanding, I could no longer commit to the regular practices and tournaments for several months out of the year, so I started playing more rec leagues. I haven't played in the last couple of years though, but hope to get back into it after I move and get back in playing shape again.
Yeah, we played one of those teams in a tourney one time. It was really humorous. I mean, they didn't even try to play D. We had all sorts of hits falling in front of them, scored 8 in the first inning. They scored 12. So, we got back to work and scored 6 more in the 2nd. They scored 22.

It was ridiculous. I think most of them could hit a HR on command.
