It likely remains to be seen what success (or the lack of it) is to be in Moore's future!

If nothing else, it'll take some of the heat off big Mike being obliged to prove himself.

https://www.si.com/nfl/cowboys/news...-kellen-moore-will-remain-cowboys-play-caller

“Kellen was someone I was watching from afar, regardless of what opportunity worked out for myself,'' the coach said. "The opportunity to work with Kellen was something I was going to pursue either way.”

Thanks for providing that. I remember the opening sentence but not the second one.

I still think he said that as an appeasement to Jones's assignment and fondness of Moore, but he did in fact say it.

Keeping Kellen Moore is a Jerrah decision , he wanted to keep everyone in the offense & Big Mac negotiated that .

Keeping Kellen is a recipe for disaster . Yes indeed . Because its a Jerry move.
Well, you’d be weong on this

McCarthy had identified Moore last year as a potential hire for his staff no matter where he ended up being the HC. If another coach came in and fired Moore, you’d likely see him on MM’s staff in NY, Cleveland or wherever

it just so happened that he was already here

here’s the quote from SI

““Kellen was someone I was watching from afar, regardless of what opportunity worked out for myself,'' the coach said. "The opportunity to work with Kellen was something I was going to pursue either way.”

Ken Norton Jr is the 9ers DC I believe.

I would take him over just about anyone out there.

Norton is the DC for the Seahawks. He was with the 49ers for like a month to coach up linebackers before the Seahawks hired him and then subsequently fired Richard

Robert Saleh is the 49ers DC. You’ll hear his name about 400 times tomorrow as they talk about the 49ers defense and how Saleh mithr have had a HC job if the 49ers didn’t have such a long playoff run

I found your gentleman's club. It's in Galveston (now I know where you're from). But...it's called WISPERS...not Whispers! Sheesh...talk about confusing. lol

Or is it? This guy is like a secret agent or something. Opening and closing gentlemen ya clubs across Texas to cover his tracks. Spelling it “Wispers” just to confuse google searches

On one of the sites I'm not allowed to copy here Bob Sturm said that everyone who has ever been in a room with Kellen Moore has called him a Savant. Its funny how quickly the posts went from "Jerry hired this noob Kellen Moore and he isn't qualified" to "Jerry is making McCarthy take Kellen Moore".

I love Sturm’s articles at the site which must not be named.

I love that those who pay for them fool themselves into believing they are good.

Sturm has to go very extreme to sell subscriptions and folks think its just as real as his days as an independent.

He's sold out and y'all done foolishly bought in.

Sad. The worst.

And you have an odd definition of "low ball" when the Ravens paid 55 Million to a 30 year old Earl Thomas when he was coming off two major injuries.
Can you imagine the fall out in here if the Cowboys had signed Thomas to that deal?

Talk about bad times.

Wrong. McCarthy was going to try and hire Kellen no matter where he went. So yeah. Stop

I hope you're right, but I'm just a little suspicious. In the beginning McCarthy was planning on calling his own plays. Now he's going to give that up to Moore. I'd rather have seen McCarthy retain the play calling for himself since they're installing a new system. Don't know if that was a concession to Jerry or a decision of his own.
