Was his shoulder hurt in the Saints game?

Dak didn't play well against good teams this year.

Bills? Patriots?

Where is Dak?

IF he bullies our front office by not working out with the team and learning the offense and they just take it on the chin and cave to his demands this this franchise is done.
Against the Bills Dak had 355 yards and 2 TDs/1 INT - not exactly a bad game. Against the Pats the weather was terrible and Brady struggled at least as much as Dak. Against the Saints the game plan was nothing like the first few weeks, and they went ultra conservative. It was his lowest yards per catch and yards per attempt numbers of the year. Plus, they only got 35 yards and less than 2 yard per carry from Zeke.

That's not to say Dak couldn't have done more in those games, or didn't miss some opportunities. Obviously something was needed to put more points on the board, and the QB never gets a free pass when that is the case. But there is more to the story than simply saying "Dak didn't play well".

Isn’t it that way for all QB’s really? NO’s has Kamara and Thomas, and the backup QB dude. Mahomes has more weapons than a pro bowl team. Brady has no one and it finally failed. All QB’s need weapons. Payton had Harrison. Montana has Rice. On and on.......
This is getting more true every year.

I would love for people to go through the exercise of swapping Brees and Romo for the last decade or so and guessing how they both end up.

Bit of a click bait by Cowherd because ultimately he has this opinion for the majority of QBs and even says other than a select few, he is of this opinion.

What opinion? Are you talking about the blank check opinion? If so, I agree with him.

Had a chance in each game but he didn't do anything. Very different from the Romo years. At least Romo pushed it to the limit.

Thought the thread was about the Philly game, no?

But you are right, he wasn’t good in some other games, too Thanks for pointing it out again for the 48,000th time?

And I hope the team doesnt get bullied into contract like Zeke and Dez did. Those were horrible deals. We aren’t winning by paying a RB that can’t run against a stacked box, so it probably doesn’t matter what Dak makes. Unless we can get Mahomes. He can do it.

did the playoff loss hurt wentz'???...he's a eagles guy so probably not.
colin talks outta both sides of his mouth.
one rant he'll make the case for Dak...the next...something like this.

he didnt like the McCarthy hire and said Rivera should've been the guy.
but he did a whole segment on Lincoln Riley was Jerry's next hire.
he also did a rant about giving McCarthy a shot.

Not to the extent that Dak needs them and it all goes back to providing weapons with the restrictions he puts on the cap.

Mahomes does have weapons but let’s see how they do when his contract kicks in.

Thats the point of all of this.. QBs that take up a ton of cap space don’t win championships regardless of their quality.

Probably did. He shouldn’t have played with a hurt shoulder but he did and now that game is on tape. Nothing he can do about it now.

I agree. However not sure Cooper would have given us a better chance. Dak was cleared to play so I will not use injury as an excuse but I do think he struggled with his throws.

true yet all teams are willing to pay. I don't know of any team letting their franchise QB walk.

Yeah.. Maybe we should learn from their mistake.. Or we can be stupid like them and just sit at home watching some other team every year.

The amount of people that will be complaining about Dak not having this or that is going to be hilarious to see. WE already see it when he is making pennies.

At least we will have our "franchise" Quarterback though.

We'll get to keep on blaming Jerry Jones for our mediocrity while we applaud him for signing Dak to an outrageous deal.

I agree with him

Nothing that happened last season is a barometer for anything. The entire team cannot be evaluated properly. But Prescott first three seasons says it all. Pay the man

I think teams know how hard it is to find a QB. Hell Dallas went through a slew of QB after Troy retired. I don't think Dallas nor any team wants to do that. Ask Cleveland how many poor QB they have brought through that team. I don't think it is a mistake getting Dak or any top QB signed.

Yeah.. I think this is the old way of thinking and there are decent QB's everywhere and if you put them in an optimal situation they will be fine.

Our very own Dak Prescott who was a 4th rounder has flourished because he was in an optimal environment for a QB.

Ryan Tannehill who was considered a bust did well in Tennessee.

IT's not like the old days where a good QB is a rare thing to find. They're all over the place.

It's difficult to name off many QB's in this league who truly suck.

What does his first 3 seasons prove again?

We have no playoff success and he was an ok player who threw for 20ish TD's a season.

Most of these guys who are getting paid at least went to a Superbowl before they got stupid money.

Dak's done nothing.

"Oh, but catch, it's not his fault, the defense sucked." blah blah.. It's not going to get any better with him getting a big pay day. The team will get worse unless McClay just goes off in the draft.

Above average QB looking for elite money because of greed

that is what “hurts his value”

If the Joneses really know he’s going to hold out I would sign Bridgewater and move on

Long time ago. Decent QB's are everywhere.
I would argue Dak is well above merely “decent”. He’s certainly not elite, but he has proven to be a strong NFL QB that falls well within the next tier after the “elite” ones

Well, darn.
I thought we agreed to keep "Dak is not a blank check guy" secret?

Its not nearly as hard to find a QB as it was a decade ago. If you look at a list of the starting QBs you'll find almost half have been drafted 2016 forward.

Dak Prescott
Jared Goff
Carson Wentz
Jacoby Brissett

Mitch Tribusky
Patrick Mahomes

Josh Allen
Bakers Mayfield
Sam Darnold

Daniel Jones
Drew Lock
Gardner Minshew
Kyler Murray
Will Grier (in place of Cam Newton)
David Blough (in place of Matthew Stafford)
Devlin Hodge (in place of Ben Rothlisberger)

If you go back to 2015, you can add Jameis Winston and Marcus Mariota, and don't let the screen door hit you in the butt by missing the talk that those teams are ready to move on. Drafted one year before Dak and could be looking for a new home this year. Doesn't that tell you this is a get it done or get out league?
