Ok..

I realize everybody is taking their sliderules out and busily measuring all the positions and what we need.

I keep coming back to center.

The experts say Rd 2-3 is where the top ones come off the board.

How long before we make this move?

I know some think there is plenty of options already in reserve to fix this problem.

But I just think a healthy, young center is a key especially for us.

Beard left in 2018 and we suffered, he was not 100% in 2019. either.

For your consideration...

I just love the smell of a pancake block early in a game.you?

@Redball Express The draft is no time to fill 'needs.' BPA is the way to go. Stick to your board and listen to the scouts and choose talent. Fill your immediate needs through FA. I saw no Center on that list worthy of being BPA at pick 17. If Georgia OT Andrew Thomas falls to 17, then take him and find a spot on the OL for him. Make him a Center or move someone else there and let Thomas play G or Tackle.

This team has plenty of weapons at the Center position: Looney, Williams, McGovern. See what works in camp. Get the best 5 OL out there. If Zach Martin turns out to be the best Center in camp, then play him there and let the others play guard.

One never knows when an injury will occur. Talented, flexible, interchangeable pieces are the best way to go.

Jerry will sell a ton of his jerseys to the Hispanic community!!!!! Hmmmmm, I can see that.
I just want somebody mean and who likes to pancake people.

I am tired of retooled guys playing the position like before Beard came.

It was like a box of chocolates. You never knew what you were going to get.

Connor McGovern.
we had a 2nd Rd grade on him for a reason.
they need to trust their own evaluations.
McGovern is our center in the McCarthy Era.
Ain't no big deal if you are correct.

I just like OL without injury histories.

Availablity is one of the best skill sets.

We have to scramble for 2 years now and I prefer to take a top one now and not play musical chairs with everybody.

Our greatest teams always had a great RB, TE, WR, QB, DT, MLBer and C.

Up the middle has always been the short way home for us.

Just me.

No earlier than round 3.

too many needs to take one higher. The team already has a ton of capital invested in OL. There’s no reason they can’t still produce at a high level with McGovern or Looney. IMO

If Kinlaw and Henderson are there at 17 and the jones boys take a center, this board will be off the chain. I know I could not take it. LOL.
No.

I think concensus says Rd 2-3 but Beard went end of Rd 1.

At the time we all screamed then.

Then they drafted Martin 1st Rd and again we scratched our heads.

If they used 2rd to take one I would not bat an eye.

Trading back out of 17 to the late 20s and 30s might work and pick up a draft pick to take the center like a freebie pick would be ideal and very doable.
