I wouldn’t have traded this pick (Lamb) for anything other than a 1st this year and a 1st next year to a team like Miami who's pretty much guaranteed to suck. This kid doesn’t just help the passing game, he opens up the running game for Zeke and Pollard as well. If you stack the box vs. Dallas - your *** is grass.

Good. Glad Atlanta didn’t cave in. I would’ve been in a bad mood if Eagles jumped us again. We’d never hear the end of it from that trash fan base.

I wonder if the Jets dangled Jamal Adams after seeing that Lamb was still there?

Well, what were the teams offering is the all-important missing information. Without that information, can't really make a determination on whether it was good to take him or should have traded.

TB didn't seem to give up much to move one slot ahead. NE didn't seem to get much in their trade. Don't know what GB gave up to move up.

I keep salivating at the open lanes in the 3rd and 4th qtr with Zeke fresh and ready to abuse people at the second level that are worn out chasing these receivers all over the place. It should be nice to see Zeke look more like 2016 late in games again.

Good question. I doubt the Jets were offering a player for player swap straight up.

Indeed. I wouldn't throw out the possibility. They got some protection for Darnold and a weapon like Lamb would be killer.

Both the trades you mentioned were exactly by the traditional trade chart. New England got 765 points and gave up 760. SF got 1160 and gave up 1150.

Based on that chart, closest value for the 17th pick would look like:
18 + 114 (1st and 4th rounder--Miami traded away their 4th though)
21 + 85 (Eagles' 1st and 3rd)
28 + 60 (Ravens' 1st and 2nd)

For picks between those, there'd have to be balancing picks included. Dropping below 28 would require an extra pick going to Dallas.

If Zeke isn't 250 pounds, then yes.

But if Dallas valued Lamb at 6, so let's hit the difference between 6 and 17 at 12. What would have been the cost for a team to trade up to the 12th pick? That's what I would have been asking in the very least.

But better put, Dallas would have had to look at who they could get if they traded down and what the value in that would be. Trading with Minnesota or Philly would have cost Chaisson. So who else would we like in the first? Maybe that cost was too great so they just took the best player.

Instead Philly just decided to take a 2nd round player in the first. Love that almost as much as I love the Giants taking the 4th best tackle at #4 overall.

They may not have any 1st rounded graded players left when it was their selection.
