The same. They drafted their board and they always draft by consensus unless there is a tie, which there clearly wasn’t for any of these picks. Board broke well for them for sure though.

It wouldn’t have mattered the Cowboys were bent on going with the best players available on their board.

I think it would have been very different.
They may have stuck to their board, but the board would have been much different. Geared toward Garrett / !Marinelli type players. Not a straight BPA board. This board was geared toward MM type players based on actual BPA.

I dunno....

To me this draft wasnt much more than...make a board, let it come to you and stick by it.

BPA met need at least twice. I have a slight problem in the 2nd, but they had no real choice.

They couldn't come out of today without a CB.

We don’t usually go BPA with Garrett?

They spoke of going with the BPA many times under Garrett. Everything the Cowboys do is a collaborative effort with everyone providing impute. Jerry has always made the final decision on who the Cowboys draft.

Would the board have been different with Garrett?

I seriously doubt it because he was one of many who provided input. The team goes with the consensus and Jerry breaks any ties. Stephen has a much louder voice than Garrett ever had. Stephen is the one who talked Jerry out of drafting Manziel.

I think that was years ago. They said themselves last year they had McGovern higher than Hill. LVE was probably a reach. Taco was terrible. That groups last good draft was 2016

Don’t know if Garrett woulda had much input, but if Marinelli was still the DC, our haul so far would be a 280lb DT and a “project” DE with off-field issues.

LVE was BPA. So was Taco, pretty much, we just got wiped out in 2017.

I remember them saying they had a 2nd round grade on McGovern and using the “blinking light” phrase they just used again yesterday on Lamb. I don’t remember them saying they had him higher than Hill, though. I do remember they took him even though he wasn’t a need because he was an obvious BPA.

Cesar Ruiz in the first, some TE in the second and Rod Marinelli’s top DL choice in the third, who was probably projected as an UDFA.

It would have probably been a little better with Garrett but I don't see the point of this. We have to move on. Don't do this to yourself.
Just a topic of conversatio . Glad there is a new direction. Just wish that it started at the top with jer washing his hands of personnel decisions.
