Serious scenario with Dalton

Let’s suppose Dak signs the tag and intends on playing the year out on the FT. Let’s also suppose Dak bets on himself once too often and suffers a season ending injury the first play of the game, but the prognosis is a full recovery to 100 percent the following year.

Now, just for the sake of this exercise let’s assume that Dalton steps into this loaded team, wins at least 12 games and goes on to win the Super Bowl, what do you do?

You can’t tag both Prescott AND Dalton. Both would be worth two firsts in a trade scenario if they are locked up under contract.

It would be far better to have Prescott under contract than not. You could tag Dalton and get a kings ransom for one or the other. And that has a real possibility of happening.

What if Dak throws for another 5000 yards, over 30 TD's and we win 12 games and make the championship game.

Will all you Dak Turds go running for the hills?

Personally I think we are close to a year away from that but that may just be the Garrett residue on me. The play of the defense will determine how far we go.

I definitely roll with the hot hand, which, would be Dalton.

Would be interesting to watch Dalton have a season under a competent coaching staff. He has been tethered to Marv Lewis and then a in-over-his-head Zac Taylor his entire career.

I make a major motion picture. Maybe called Rudy Too or maybe Ginger Snaps Back.

I am writing the script as we speak so if you have movie titles you want to bounce off of me, feel free.

Ginger Does Dallas?

You are mistaken. I am a Dak fan.

That’s basically what the Eagles did. They were dumb enough to keep the often injured QB that didn’t win the SB for them.

Foles fit that system and much cheaper. They paid Wentz and now have caca surrounding him.
I most cases its a call to youth and expenditure of recourses spent to acquire the player. Wentz should be under the lemon law sometimes.

Totally enjoy the compensation 3rd round pick we get for Dalton in the 2022 draft.

What's the deal with holding out now with the new CBA? I think it might have been made way less lucrative to hold out anyway but with Andy Dalton on the roster, if I'm Dak, I wouldn't want to be giving him a sniff by holding out.

There would be no scenario where Dalton would get two first round picks. I don't care if he won two super bowls let alone one. I also don't believe Dak would get us two first rounders now, let alone after a season ending injury. That said, I believe Dak would become a free agent under your scenario.

If that was the situation, you trade Dak, sign The SB champ for 3-4 years and draft a couple QBs the following few drafts.

If Dalton did that and won a SB he would automatically become royalty around here and in Dallas. Cowboys would let Dak go and sign Dalton to a 3 year extension (probably wouldn't have an issue with the years because he will be 33) and then draft his future replacement in 2021 or 2022
We could say Dalton would "Dak" him. You know, what Dak did to Romo lol. Dalton would win the starting job and Dak would be the odd man out.

I'd say we'd extend Dalton...ipso-fatso...new franchise QB.

Let me get this straight..

You have two of the highest paid linemen in the league and have invested heavily into the O line in draft capital..

You have a top2 paid RB..

You have a top 3 paid WR and drafted a 1st round WR..

You paid 30M to your QB..

And you're still going to pin the blame on the defense? Really?

The X factor in all of this, is Andy Dalton's "love" for the team.

He could be the kind of guy to sign for cheap for a couple of years and chase a championship and ride off into the sunset as a local Hero.

Dalton already made his money and is far from a "muh respect" kinda guy just look at his charity work in Cincinnati.

Even if Dak plays to his standards and we don't win squat, wouldn't we be better off just moving on from Dak Prescott and signing Dalton to a 3 year cheap deal and going that route after next year?

Probably..But hey, maybe I'm giving the Jones boys too much credit..
