oh someone that scowls the earth on zeke and RBs, i think you know Hershel never won a rushing title in NFL.
and Walker was never the instinctive runner zeke is ...nor the blitz blocker zeke is, and not in his league when it comes to knack for goal line

only two things we can say that Hershel had an advantage was straight line speed. but without vision instincts and wiggle what good is that
when teams will just string you out to the sideline because you can't sense opening creases at the line ?

:omg:
Herschel was simply an average NFL RB. Not terrible, not special.

Good list. A few great players that should have been included or moved up-
  • Safety Cornell Green was a 3 time ALL PRO in late 60s and early 70s- he has to be on S list.
  • Chuck Howley never played MLB. He was an OLB. Deserves to be #1 on OLB list because I would put DWare as a DE.
  • Drew Pearson and Tony Hill should be higher on this WR list. They both had more yardage than Dez and much bigger plays in playoff games than TO.
  • OLB D.D. Lewis played in 4 SBs and started for the great Doomsday Ds of the 70s for nearly a decade. He should be on that list.
  • Jay Ratliff IMO not worthy of this list. Jethro Pugh was a great DT for a decade and has a SB ring.
  • Tom Rafferty at C should be second or third on this list. Has a ring and started in 3 SBs and 5 NFC championship games.
you can make the argument Cornell Green is one of our 5 greatest CBs and S.
correct me if im wrong but he made the pro bowl at both CB and S.
i believe he started out as a corner...making pro bowls and all-pro....then moved to s later in his career....making the pro bowl...all-pro and the Cowboys went to consecutive Super Bowls with him at S.
how this man is not in both the Ring and enshrined in Canton is beyond me.
he and Renfro were just beyond amazing back there in my opinion.

Larry played OLT in 1998 and was both all pro and made the pro bowl. He had also played T in parts of other seasons.
I think he played in about 20 games at blindside tackle, and he was a beast because he was Larry Allen. I'm just saying the dude is a HOF Guard, so he'd be my #1 Guard.

Really nice job, I would change just a few things.

No doubt Zeke and Dak will be up there some day, but four seasons isn't sufficient enough to replace some genuine contributors.

RB's Calvin Hill, Bill Perkins, Dan Reeves, Duane Thomas deserve some consideration

QB's Don Meredith and Craig Morton started NFL championship games
.
TO's few seasons cannot replace Tony Hill's career. Even if it did, there is a Hall of Famer that might disagree, Lance Alworth

Two Ray Donaldson seasons do not surpass the 11 year career of Dave Manders. True, he was never the same after the knee injury but he had already done more then Ray Donaldson

like I say, there are a few close ones, but really nice work.

I typically look for gross injustices. That was the biggest one I saw.

How can anyone have Zeke ahead of Walker?

Oh please...……..its not even a conversation. Instinctive? Nothing instinctive about Zeke.

Walker was one of the best RB's of all time. His first 4 years he played in the USFL so he was basically wasted over there.

Walker only had one 1k yd season with Dallas. Totally agree that he was not as good as Zeke. He was likely a better college RB, but he wasn't a better NFL RB.

I agree, it might be too early to include Elliott or Prescott because 4 years is not that long. At the same time you throw in Duane Thomas' name for consideration, but he was only in Dallas for 2 years. Same with Lance Alworth whose 2 years with the Cowboys were but a shadow of what he accomplished with the Chargers. I saw he had Perkins listed under fullbacks. Good initial list as well as good tweeks by others including your input.
