The great John Owning made this thread last April. Considering Connor is gonna be in the mix to potentially start at either C or LG, I think this is a good time to revisit what he can do (especially without a real training camp):

A lot of good stuff in that OP. I loved this draft pick. To get this kind of talent in the 3rd round is the perfect way to maintain the OL domanince while the Cowboys transition from the Smith, Fredbeard, Martin trio over the next few years.

Looks to me like the kid has some exceptional God-given talent and plenty of power. He just needs some steady coaching. I could definitely see him manning that LG position and potentially doing it at a pro-bowl level. He looks like the kind of power road-grader Zeke likes to run behind.

Plus he was hurt last year so most couldn't see what he could do.

Can't expect anything less coming out of Penn State. Sean & Connor will do a bit of reminiscing.

The kid has all the power he'll ever need. He needs technique work. His hands and feet get him in trouble, but he's able to use his power to compensate. He stymies a DE using nothing but upper-body strength in one of those clips.

I'm also not sure I would call the likes of Penn St., Ohio St., Michigan, or Wisconsin "lesser college talent." Those schools produce top-notch defensive linemen every year. They also produce some of the best pro offensive and defensive linemen.

He definitely needs some coaching, but this kid looks like a good fit for what the Cowboys like to do on the line. I think I'd prefer to see him at LG, personally and let Connor be the swing tackle if he's got the footwork.

Loved the draft pick and can't wait to see who emerges as the starter at LG and C. Feels great to have depth in the middle of the O-Line. Still have nightmares of Phil Costa, Bill Nagy. Heck pretty much the O-Lines of 2010-2012.

Great prospect but I think some fans need to let him develop and actually play a nfl snap before he gets the oil treatment

I'm a fan of the draft pick.

Looks like a guard to me. Center? We will see.

I think Looney need to be 1 of the starting 5.
Yeah you’d love looney because it will make Dak look worse. Lol. Biadasz is our starting center. Book it

This dude is definitely a wildcard. If he becomes what some think he can, he can automatically kick Williams to the bench or possibly take over for Fred. I’m excited to see what happens with him

what makes you think that? Just curious. Because most lineman don’t come in prepared to start as rookies, especially not guys picked in the later rounds.

He does come from a line-rich school, but I’m just wondering what makes you so confident in him coming in and overtaking Looney or McGovern so quickly

Not so much for me. While Looney is capable, the power quotient of the offensive line drops considerably with him in the lineup. He'd be my 3rd option at center all things being equal.
