There were 5 new coaches hired this year:
-Matt Rhule
-Kevin Stefanski
-Joe Judge
-Ron Rivera
-Mike McCarthy
Did we get the best one or is there someone you would have rather have. Did Jerry just go for a name hire instead of the best candidate or is the best name also the best candidate. My feelings are that just moving on from Garrett is an upgrade but I also think that McCarthy brings the experience to a team that is ready to take it to the next level. Rhule is interesting but he is gonna have a learning curve as is Judge. What say you?
Ruhle is definitely a hot commodity coming out of college. Turned 2 Dormant programs around.

I think Rivera is an interesting hire in Wash. They have some pieces there which could make it interesting if their QB can play.

Judge is the unknown but coming from Pats gets the attention. A solid hire as OC should help develop Jones if he is real deal as QB , NY could be improved.

I see McCarthy as an easy hire for Jerry wanting a proven name to quite the criticism. And this HC probably inherits the most talent so expectations will be high.

What?
There is nothing to tear down in Dallas as there is in Carolina.

We have a talented team, but did not have the coaching. You got what you wanted from your post. as to a new HC, new assistants, and actually a lot of young players to come up with this new coaching staff.
So this is the perfect year to do this the way they have. A QB that has improved, and will improve. Many players have not hit their prime yet.

There was a way to tear down and take a different approach with a new coach and new assistants.

Dallas signed old free agents, a troubled free agent and retread coaches so no it's not what I wanted personally.

I know this was not the conventional thinking but I wanted to see the organization become different and totally get rid of the garrett years and rebuild from the ground up.

Who is the guy in NY? Whoever that moron is has to be the worst of them. Any fool that would hire Garrett to run your offense has to be the worst. Garrett will slowly weasel his way into the HC job as he undercuts him.

He most likely didn't hire him and Mara probably played a heavy hand in that.

Plus the other option was the jones boys were going to not do what you would, but keep jg and all staff except the DC and def coaches.
That was the plan before they talked to mike.

he may fail, but he is the best coach wash has had in many many years.
It will be harder for dallas to beat wash now.

I've long had a theory involving the Commanders new players and coaches in
the DC area. It's a bad mix for certain personalities. It wasn't always that way.
I think it changed when DeSean Jackson went there. I know he's long gone
but there's something there that remained when he left. I can't quite put it into words.
(Full disclosure: I live in the area and despise the Commanders)

I agree that he's a good coach, and maybe he turns the team around, but the
vibe in his new city is much different than the Carolinas.

Sounds like maybe u should move to the dallas area?
But what u are talking about , could that stem from the owner Synder?
I dont like him as a owner , and the Commanders havent been good since he bought the team.

I'll say big Mike was the best choice for Dallas.
I think Judge is in trouble now that JG is there. could cause tensions in the locker room if things go badly early on
River boat Ron will clash hard with the idiot running the skins into the ground.
Kevin Stefanski is with the Browns for Pete's sake. poor guy, almost feel sorry for him.
Rhule is interesting, but I think for Dallas he was the longest shot with the deepest home run potential, but too much of a long shot to take with this team.

Yes, I agree.Snyder is the common denominator in my theory.
He's a terrible owner.

I'd love to live near Dallas. Maybe someday.

We got the one that’s coached a team to a Super Bowl victory so that gives us the edge in my opinion.
Unless you believe in history. I hope MM beats the odds and becomes the first. I love whoever coaches the Cowboys until they don't. Then I may only like them. lol

I know you’re talking about HCs but Bones as ST coordinator will do wonders to the dumpster fire we’ve had the last few seasons

very weird. Some still think he was a good OC. Stats don’t tell the whole story! He took over a top tier offense in 2007 and they were a complete dumpster fire by 2010. The 2009 playoff game against Minnesota was a joke.

A myth perpetrated by his few, remaining supporters (the 4 of them anyway). They count on people accepting what they say without actually looking things up.

Of those 5 I would have taken Rhule

But compared to the clown show from last year, any of those would have been a dramatic improvement

As long as we get special teams fixed. We only started one drive on the opponents side of the field last season
