Is There A Better Fit For Dak?

We’ve dissected Dak’s Cowboys future ad infinitum.

Considering all the many scenarios of his either remaining a Cowboy or departing, here’s a question:

Might Dak and his agent believe he could possibly be a better fit with another NFL team (football success, potential salary and endorsements, etc), rather than the Dallas Cowboys? If so, which team(s)? Personally, I don’t see it.

Haven’t really studied this in detail, but maybe some of y’all have.

Thoughts?
I think Dak should offer his services to the Bengals, Browns, Dolphins, Commanders, Jets, or the Giants.
He should go there and prove that he is a franchise quarterback that can lead a team to greatness.

huh? care to explain what you mean? Didnt we have the same divide with Romo?
I mean, he's the only honest Dak slobberer on the board... he shouldn't be ridiculed for that. Lots of people on here want to see Dak get rich, they don't care about the Cowboys, or even football it would seem. It's a behavior usually associated with younger fans but it's apparently prevalent with adults too.

Can't say that until this deal is done. I am sure his agent ran all of the numbers by him and the risk factor with a QB playing through his contract year with a hot seat HC and first time OC.

Most QB's will take the money and run with an extension because it's immediate money and few will take the chance on playing through the contract year as Cousins and Flacco did but I do not think either was offered a deal in that last year as both were rumored to be on the bubble.

They tried to do the same that LAR and PHL did with their QB's, just as BAL, HOU and KC will try to do but Prescott bet himself and he won. Hasn't made it to the cash in window yet but he's on his way.

What the hell is wrong with us? We get pissed over the cap implications and don't stop to consider how rare it is that a pro athlete is willing to bet on himself? And he does this with a first time QBC and OC and a run first HC? Who does that? Not many.
If we overpay him, it could easily cost us super bowl runs. I really am not worried about his personal finances, especially since he's going to be very rich no matter what. So why would it mean something to me if he holds the team hostage for a maxed out contract that keeps us in mediocre land? I really don't understand this way of thinking.

The best fit for Prescott would be on a team with a stout D because that best compliments his style of play. At Miss St, they rose because of that D.

I think he would be a good fit at MIN but a perfect fit at NE because he's the type QB Belichick prefers, one that doesn't make too many mistakes. His association with Brady made some forget what he's all about. He doesn't expect his QB to win the game because he has his D but he doesn't expect him to lose it either.

He would also be a good fit in SF because of the run game and D.

Any team that asks their QB to execute plays and not create them would be a good fit.

True. BB would’ve totally taken advantage of Dak on his rookie contract and let him go once he’s doing what he’s doing now.

Dak's agent has studied Jerry and determined that Jerry always caves. There really isn't much more than that. I have little doubt that Dak wants to be a Cowboy and the Cowboys want him. The agent is just waiting to break Jerry.
Several people say that here but really have zero evidence to support it.

We don't know what Jerry's starting position is compared to the agents or what he was really willing to pay all along but asked to pay less as part of the normal negotiation.
The best negotiators always want their opponent to leave thinking they got a good deal. And you certainly want your players to think that to assure their best attitude and effort.

Jerry craps out better business savvy every day than 90% of this board. He plays the media and the fan base to think what he wants them to think.

Closest comparison that I can come up with is Tennessee, with Tannehill.
Very similar roster build when you look and compare both.
They have the oline and RB, but not yet the WRs to match Dallas.
On offense, Dak has it all laid out for him.

Some things are bigger than me. At some point i gotta make a stand
If they are going to spend the money on the roster anyway, how is it "bigger" for you that they allocate more of it to one player instead of several?
Honest question.

Not as many Wrs, but they do have a young WR1 stud in AJ Brown, but you are correct young and thin after that.

AJ Brown is beastly!
Reminds me a bit of a young Anquan Bolden.

Accurate comparison.
He is a beast, I believe he led the league in his rookie season on YAC and YPR... Im sure Im probably off a bit, I remember reading how he led in two categories, maybe someone that follows stats to the tee can chime in and correct me.

I've been super critical of him, but I might agree with you here. A lot of QBs won Super bowls that weren't the greatest. We have a 2-3 year window here. Give him a 4 year contract, what's the alternative? Go with Dalton? C'mon now.

My main issue is not with Dak, it's with the hard cap. It would be nice if they gave resigning drafted players a cap reduction. Then we wouldn't have all of these problems. It would improve the league IMO.
I agree. Teams that draft well shouldn't lose those players

Play him on the franchise tag this year and see how he does with the new coaching staff.
Re-evaluate next season.

I had a nice, long nap just a while ago. I woke up to the sound of the AT&T Stadium crowd cheering wildly!! :starspin:
I'm not totally certain what it meant but perhaps it's a sign things may change. Happiest I've been all week!

I don't think there is a better fit than Cowboys. We are the most QB friendly team in the league imho. Strong OL, Elite RB's, Solid (possibly even better this year) WR Corp. Great facilities, top line coaches, endorsements, lots of prime time exposure (ie endorsements, sponsorship, brand etc)

The Cowboys QB is a dream job right now.. and it fell into Dak's lap. He is the luckiest man alive and I've said that for four years but it holds true.

The fact he is holding out doesn't surprise me.. the guy is a selfish, insecure ******* that overrates himself almost as much as some on this board do. He would struggle to get the starting job on most teams and would have been bounced out of the league by now.

The fact he isn't kissing Jerrys feet and signing on a team friendly deal just confirms everything I know.. the guys is stupid. IF he doesn't sign with the Cowboys and Jerry can actually, for friggen once, hold his nerve.. the guy will not find another team even remotely close to the Cowboys in terms of talent, position, support etc.
