Would any fan on here pay Dak 40 million per year?

Been around as long as I can remember going back to Meredith and he was homegrown.

There is a certain entitlement present in Texas regarding football unlike anywhere else I've ever lived. Style points matter and not all wins are equal with the Cowboys and Longhorns. The question isn't did they win but by how much. I do believe the Cowboys are the first team I've ever seen have a bad win.

And what did that diatribe have to do with people constantly complaining about something with the Cowboys?

I think he will get 36+. But then those who hate athletes getting paid will trot out the $40M number and say, "The FO didn't cave to his $40M demand," even though it was never a demand, so they can feel that they "won" in hoping him to get less to soften the blow to the ego. Some fans are pretty sad sacks, lol.
I think 35 is in the table now and will be a steal in a few years or after mahomes and others get paid. I think he will take the 35 for 4 years with enough guaranteed. Maybe 112. I think goff got 110. I hear it’s the 5th year is the hang up. Daks agent wants 45 million for the 5th year.

Obviously Daks side don’t want a 5 year deal so they bumped the price of the 5th year to steer him away. JJ will pay up, even if it’s 36.

Everyone will complain he was over paid like when Romo got paid. Wait till he throws a pick. But when he pulls one out at the end with a perfect throw it will be a team effort.. Some will never be happy. Who cares, at this point end the misery so we can move on to the refs again.

Having purchased a home with a 30 year fixed rate mortgage hardly qualifies one to denigrate guys like Stephen who write maga deals every year. Anyone remember variable rate mortgages and the fools who lost their homes thinking their incomes would increase over time and their property values would escalate? It's human nate to criticize and belittle but consider the source.

My question is why are supposed Cowboy fans need to find things to complain about? The only thing I can think of is they're not happy unless they are complaining about something with the Cowboys.
.
I love my cowboys and most of the fan base but I do at times understand why Stephen A days some of the things he does about our fan base

can be annoying as heck but at least on Sunday we’re all united

I think

Any fan who wants to move on from Dak must have thoroughly enjoyed the musical chairs we played at QB after releasing Troy Aikman in 2000 and losing Romo in 2015.

I thought it addressed your question because I've been around longer than you and so has complaining about the Cowboys.

Do you know that some other sports fans don't do it about their teams as well?

There's only one QB that I'd pay $40 million. Unfortunately, he's not available.

Move away from Dak man are you joking????
How and why would we want to live without the following below.....

What no more 3 and outs?
No more Field Goals?
Red-zone failures.
We will be beating teams with winning records.....OMG..:(
No more over-thrown and off-target passes???
Dak will no longer after a beat down gives his famous speech which goes accordingly....We need to play better as a team....:omg:
And last and not least Dak's Deer in the headlights game face....simply PRICELESS!!!:muttley:

The last 8 threads you’ve started have been Dak related. Most of the topics you start on this board revolve around your hatred for Dak. You only created a membership on this board to use it as a platform for your obsessive hatred for Dak. You’ll wear out you’re welcome here eventually. Answer the question why did you choose Andy Dalton to start the season in the poll that was started? Did you choose him because you were that impressed with his career in Cincinnati or is it because you hate Dak and would rather have anyone but him?

I definitely would not pay Dak 40 million per year. Even more important is that the Cowboys are not willing to pay Dak that kind of money. Jerry and Stephen have gotten on board with the trend of analytics. As a result, they know their team has a much lesser chance of winning a Superbowl if they tie up so much money at the QB position. I think that is why they are content to offer a fair contract that is considered market value without breaking the bank and preventing them from adding quality free agents.

As soon as they signed Andy Dalton, they neutralized any leverage Dak had in holding out. I truly believe that the Jones's are prepared to let Dak hold out and let Dalton take over. Things will really get interesting if Dalton does start the season and the Cowboys go 3 and 1 in the first month. As much as the Jones believe in Dak, he might end up losing his job. It wasn't too long ago that Tony Romo lost his job to Dak. It didn't matter how much Jerry loved Romo, when Romo was ready to return it was in a backup role. Things could play out similarly with Dak and Dalton.

I know a lot of fans here don't think much of Andy Dalton based on his play over the last few seasons but they don't take into account that he has not had the supporting cast like Dak has had in Dallas during the last several years. When Dalton did have a great supporting cast, he played the best season of his career.

First off your numbers are off. If Prescott plays on the exclusive tag it's for 31 mil not 33 mil. Second you can think what you want about Prescott but going into free agency this off season Prescott was rated as the NUMBER ONE free agent in the entire NFL so if the Cowboys had used the non-exclusive tag there would have been a bidding war for him and would have ended up north of that 33 mil a year. Now if the Cowboys chose to take the two #1 draft picks fine, but then every team would have known the Cowboys would have been after a QB and there would have been at least 1 team that would have moved up in front of the Cowboys to draft Love so the Cowboys would have at that time Rush without any knowledge at that time that Dalton would get fired.

The long and the short of it is I thank God you have zero to do with the cowboys.
Well, um... You seem to be unnecessarily angry at me for some reason. And you are wrong on ALL counts.

1. https://www.dallascowboys.com/news/dak-prescott-officially-gets-33m-franchise-tag
"Prescott received the exclusive franchise tag worth around $33 million."

2. That "bidding war" was my point. Let them bid. That is HOW you find the true market value as I said. The WORST thing that happens there is that you get 2 first round picks.

3. Love? Really? Assuming that Dak received an offer that we chose NOT to match, we would have received one first round pick this year and one next year. Depending on which team signed Dak, we might not have even had to make a trade to get a replacement QB. Can you imagine getting Tua AND CeeDee?

I think mahomes will get it and it’s to much. But it’s the market. If we sign Dak to a 4 year deal now and he plays at a high level and gets paid again then 40 maybe low balling by then...
If he plays at a high level, then he'll be worth it.

It's our nature. Keeps things interesting. Unfortunately, some can't disagree without resorting to buttheadism.

He played at a high level last year. 4900 yards and change. We finished 8-8. The finale against philly was gut wrenching.

Yes and no. Dak was off and on last year. He was great, and he was terrible. Consistency still escapes him at this point.
