I blame this....

9-7 ............2017
10-6........... 2018
8-8 ...........2019

It's not personal its business.....

Whelp I guess Tyron, Martin, Cooper, Law, Elliot, Gallop, LVE, Jaylon etc. are also all not worth having on contracts because that is what the record says....

I wasn't referring to you personally as a Dak hater, but what I was eluding to is the fact that there has been an excessive, I mean excessive amount of threads and topics discussing the whole Dak thing, when all the while, most civilized cowboy fans have understood he will eventually sign.

Just seems a little Helter shelter to now be assuming that Jerry won't get the deal done seeing as that he is willing to pay him high rolling tag money. I get that this is a place for discussion and free speech, but does anyone really think this deal won't get done?
The fact he hadn’t signed drives the drama spurring the headlines and endless discussion.

If you’re so convinced this is a non issue not sure what attracts you to the discussion .

What drives me to the discussion is the same as anyone else because I have an opinion on the matter. I personally believe the deal is being slow walked because each side wants compromise and it behooves them to wait so that they may eventually meet in the middle ground.

Yea but what I responded to was your opinion is the entire discussion is a waste of time because you believe Jerry will sign him. Why would you want to participate in a discussion you believe is null and void?

Thanks for the list. New contracts for you, you, you, you. Took DLaw 2 years of franchise tags but got there. That was a pretty good move seeing DLaw was basically a ? and he didn’t really peak until he needed to. Maybe it’ll be the same for Dak? Regardless, the QB still needs a a long term contract. Wonder why we are so unsure with this one but everyone seems to be getting paid.

I'll take this bet. This logic makes less than zero sense. Even if Dallas has no plans on keeping dak long term..they will franchise him again..there is almost zero change dak isn't the qb next year

I agree, this is a (still) win now team, but with all the new coaches and all the new players, very likely this year will be one for the Cowboys to get "settled in", but once that is done, to let Dak leave, and start over with a new quarterback, or even Dalton, would mean more time to get to a SB level, and the team will begin to lose players like Woods, etc. because they simply can't sign everybody, and the window of opportunity will be gone.

Also, Dak has some improvement to do, yeah Jerry would like the stability of having Dak around for 4-5 more years, but if Dak doesn't improve, or get this team to the SB, Jerry might well lose his enthusiasm for Dak and let him go after two years, IF they can't get a deal done this year.

Regardless, Dak is too good to let go in the HOPE that they can get a stud in the draft, or someone like Rodgers who might finally get fed up with the Packers' failure to get him a proper supporting cast, e.g. Just too much of a risk...

I don't like how this is playing out. Hopefully they get a deal done before July 15. Otherwise the team will be right back in the same predicament next year and the only difference is the cost will have gone up. A 2nd franchise tag will pay $37.7 million so that number will be the floor for negotiations next year. That's why Dak isn't willing to sign a long-term deal unless he gets the number he wants. Otherwise he can play this year on the tag for $31 million and then get a 4 year deal for $37 million a year.

The NHL, NBA, and MLB will play their games without fans.

NFL is the exception?

No fans equals how much of the 2021 salary cap disappears?

$60 million too high, too low.

I've been frustrated with Dak. I honestly feel like the team has extended to him more-than-fair offers. I suspect I'm not the only fan who thinks this. At this point, I think the team should do their homework and simply plan to draft a quarterback in the first, and maybe even another insurance guy (ala Skins and Cousins) in a later round like the third, and maybe even negotiate one more year of Dalton as a stop-gap. Enough is enough.

I think Dak's gamble will blow up in his face. If he doesn't perform in a stellar way this season, his negotiating leverage will go down. If the virus situation shortens or even cancels the season, it means less money for the league, and that brings his negotiating power down. Not smart, Dak. This offseason has likely been your best negotiating leverage, and you got offers above your value, IMO, and in the opinion of many.
