Top 5 receiver? Every ranking I saw had him as the #1 or #2 receiver. And on the two big boards I just looked up Lamb was #6 overall on one and #7 on the other.
Correct, 1 or 2 would make him top 5. I only said top 5 and not top 2 because I thought the “top 5 talent” comment that I was responding to was a typo.

And I just randomly looked at 5 big boards, two of them had Jeudy above Lamb, none had Lamb as top 5 and I would say the average was probably 9-10 if you combined all of them.

Regardless, it’s splitting hairs. Kinlaw was ranked slightly higher and slightly lower than Lamb on most big boards and we could have used a stud young rookie DT more than a receiver IMO.

It’s very hard to evaluate OU players for this very reason.

Their competition is a joke and they get to play in so much space because of it.
I will say that CD had that ball just tossed his direction a few times,, but his YAC is what separates his skill set from Juedy and Ruggs.
Such a very deep WR class. 2020.

Great, then why did we give Coop a fat contract? Also, if people think we are that close to winning a Super Bowl then why not focus on what needs to be fixed the most right now, not 5 years from now?

We gave Coop the contract because the draft hadn’t happened yet. And again, as he stated, his contract affords the opportunity to walk away after two years w/ zero penalty. The structure of the contract along with the good fortune of drafting lamb actually compliment eachother beautifully. Yes an impact defender would’ve been awesome as well, but the way things played out is still incredible

True but that's like saying Aaron Rodgers is a top 10 qb. It's technically true but kinda hides how good he actually is. Obviously you ideally would have certain positions line up with your pick but you have to be flexible in order to get the best value. I had concerns about Kinlaw's medical pre-draft but he wasn't on the board when the Cowboys picked anyway. Obviously if Isaiah Simmons was on the board I would have been all about picking him over Lamb as well. But the way the board fell Lamb was by far the best prospect on the board.

If we stayed true to our board, than the board seems to be well invested in.
You watch/study team dynamics enough, so many long drafts, that you begin to know Immediately when a team is drafting from their board, trusting in the evaluation process and the confidence in their collective scouting dept.
Makes it easy to identify a reach,, easy for us Cowboy fans with bad Taco memories just recently.
Have to hit esp well with your early pics and I believe we did this year with Lamb and Diggs,, everything else could be gravy.

Yeah, my bad, I was thinking Kinlaw went a couple spots after us.

will have a similar effect on the offense like Amari did in 2018?

I keep hearing about Lamb as a pancrea and being the difference for us in 2020.

That he is the future and will replace Amari in a couple of years as the #1 and Amari will be no longer needed.

I just watch his highlight video and wonder if what he is doing is based on inferior college teams facing him and his QBs playing well?

I have concerns.

Some out there might have a better feel for this.

I personally think he will occasionally sparkle then fade for stretches at a time as the season wears on and the playoffs get closer and the pressure increases.

Gallop is going to become more important becuz Amari and Lamb will be drawing the coverages and we will retreat to try to Powerball with Zeke as before.

This is where it gets dicey.

When things get tight, will Moore be creative? Will McCarthy step in and assume calling the offense?

Thoughts?
A pancrea?

Ya it was CD or bust, maybe Chaisson there, either,, but I would still lean on the CD side, love the pick and you cant pass on possible top shelf talent.
Deep WR class, meaning that in other drafts not as strong, any of Ruggs, Jeudy, Lamb would have been higher and first WR off the board.
The draft didn't stop after those 3 though,, other teams scored as well in this draft, time will tell, but just reviewing some other nice WRs from this class and were they went.Jalen Reagor - PHI
Justin Jefferson - MIN
Michael Pittman - IND
Tee Higins - CIN
Denzel Mims - Jets
Claypool to the steelers, and where they drafted him round 2 17th pick,, already declared that they will not be converting him to a TE.
At 6'4 and 227lbs and ran a 4.42 at the combine....
Just glad some of the better ones went to the AFC,, we got ours!

YES, I am thinking he does stuff for the offense that wont necessarily show up in the stat sheet on his ledger. Like by him being a huge weapon, it will spread out defenses and help the other skill guys on the team have great years and stats. You cannot measure that. IT JUST IS. That will be the case I think. I dont think he will have 1k yards, but I do think he will have about 800 yards and 12 td's..a take it to the house guy and HUGE red zone threat. HE will win ROY . As long as hes healthy. Steal of the entire draft on offense. Whats even better, we may have stolen the defensive roy candidate too, in Bradley Anae...NOT DIGGS..lol..I love Diggs...but do NOT sleep on this Anae kid. He has some Junior Seau in him and some Teddy Brusci. The kicker is, he's a DE...but plays with the speed of a linebacker. Very versatile and plays to disrupt. If he cracks the starting lineup, The staff will have trouble justifying getting that guy off the field. HE'S THAT ELITE. WE STOLE HIM. I feel great about that statement. With some coaching and reps, they can sure up his play and he will be a GEM.BUT YEAH,Back to lamb..this kid will shine in ways that may be unconventional. His blocking is also good. His technique is solid for a young guy.Don't focus on the yards. Focus on the YAC , TD'S and what he does to defenses by his presence.

Fun is one word.

Everytime I think this team is going to reward us with our loyalty..

they find a way to jump track.

One year we run over Philly like road kill.

The next they run over us to a SB.

I will settle for my old Cowboy jerseys to be worth something again.

I went into a pawn shop the other day and saw a Cowboy Jersey for sale. It was a Romo. Wanted $20 for it.

Offered $10.

They took it.

Bought it.

I have no guilt about which QB I like.

Especially if the price is right.

we are a win lose win lose up down up, down type team,

well we were just 8-8 had agreat off season of FA and Draft, Dak signed Tag we have a solid BUP QB etc etc new staff? well its our year..:))

It's a tough experience for any rookie WR trying to get acclimated from college ball to the pros. That's so with CeeDee Lamb, even though he's so talented. Living up to the lofty expectations everyone has of him will be a real challenge but one that he'll surely do his best to meet. I'm keeping my expectations at arm's length to allow him the leeway he'll need to get adjusted. Let's hope his fans are ready to do the same. It may take time but he'll do fine!

I love having a weapon like Lamb, however in the end I know there is 1 football and several top weapons the Cowboys can go to. I really will not judge so much with his individual number of Lamb or that of Cooper or Gallup, what I will judge them on is doing their parts to get this team to a championship.

I think he can have a Moss like "effect"....Not that he's Moss. Not that he'll have have 17 TD's as a rookie. But he can really catapult this offense. The Vikings didn't really draft him for "need." They already had to be HOF'er Chris Carter and Jake Reed. They had Robert Smith in the backfield. Randy came in and didn't have to carry a load.

It was worth it to draft Lamb so the Eagles couldn’t get him. We can’t be mad at them for drafting bpa finally, and I’m a big supporter of getting safety early..but u can’t pass up arguably the best WR in the draft at the pick we had.

Are we ever going to find out which media guy @Redball Express is? Just makes threads and doesn't participate anywhere else except his own threads. And if it doesn't fit his narrative just ignores you.

Also I ain't about to have some guy use my material for free when he's gettin $$. All the dumb rules on this site, but pimping your members so someone can make bread off them seems pretty crappy.
