For the Jets to acquire Chris Jones they would have to give up more than Adams..The Chiefs need to pay this stud.
At what cost? Tyreek, Kelce, Mahomes, Eric Fisher, Mitchell Schwartz, Mathieu, Ward

Hey, I love Chris Jones, one of my fav non-Cowboy players in the NFL. Should've been super bowl MVP. However, he wants 20 mil. Makes it a very very tough choice.

We have a nice mix of vets and youngsters at DT.

Same cant be said at the safety position.

Jones would be crazy expensive to acquire.

He definitely makes us BETTER, but by how much?

Look at the baseball WAR stat. Wins above replacement. Crap, I know, but while Jones is miles better than who he would replace, not by the same margin of the upgrade that Jones would be over Woods.
Chris Jones is a stud. His WAR would be huge.

They forgot to put "A Dumb Well Known Member. Your response was as lame as Dak is going to be this year. We saw has ceiling this past year and it's not good against above average team...………….

There it is. What in the world possessed you to make this about Dak? Truly, I don't get it.
Dak is the wild card on this year's team. I think our defense should be pretty solid, starting with our D-line. Offense look's solid too, we just need Dak to show up against above average teams.

Dak will sign 5 years but wants unreasonable money for the 5th year. His agent is saying 45 million for the 5th year. He is doing it for 2 reasons. He thinks thats where the market value will be in 5 years and he wants JJ to get back to the table after 4 years so not to pay the 45 for that year. Or so JJ will drop the 5th year. Well that’s 3 reasons. Lol.
Until Dak can prove he belongs on the field against above average teams JJ needs to stick to his guns. Dak has been horrendous against double digit dogs, cost us a playoff spot last year.

I will take Chris Jones over Jamal Adams 24/7 and not blink for an eternity.

This move would make this defense top 5 and allow to keep 4-3 but have flexibility to play 3-4 per matchup and scheme. Best option for this roster.

I would give up following picks: 1st, 3rd & 4th for next year.

Of course MSSTATE is the premiere DL university and the track record speaks for itself.
Fletcher Cox SB champ:dance:
Chris Jones SB champ
Kyle Love
Jeffrey Simmons
Preston Smith
Montez Sweat
Pernell McPhee

This is crazy bad.

If this is the case, might as well bring David Irving back. He would not cost anything!

I think you need to dive deeper into what you're arguing for/against and look at the entire league.

Not only do you think and sound like Fred Flintsone, I bet you even look like him.

Stick to his guns of 35 million a year for 5 years and over $100 million guaranteed?

Losses last year where was Zeke, the guy who got paid? Dak, just like Aikman, needs a running game. Your hate for Dak blinds you on Zeke's game non shows. Once again clueless, how'd Aikman do when Emmitt failed to show up?

his “ceiling” last year was nearly as good as it gets in the league. With a better coach, improved weapons, and a season coordinator hoping for more. If you’re not, kick rocks, don’t adddress me, and refer to my original list, dunce.

This thread is about Chris Jones. You one of those fans who can only think of one subject, no matter what?

Dak 35

DLaw 20
Jaylon 12
Zack 14
Tyron 12
Lael 10

= 138 mil
Soooooooooooooooooooo, how we gonna pay anyone else? Chris Jones wants 20 mil/season. Got any ideas how to fit him under the cap?
Its hard to wrap my head around paying paying Law and Jones top 3 money (which is practically identical as far as DT/DE). However I will say if you are gonna do it somewhere, your DL is the place to go. Those types of pillars could make other players around them and behind them better.

Im not advocating doing, Im just saying if you do then DL is the place to do it

Chiefs should have did what Niners did with Buckner and traded Jones for a top 15 pick before the draft and use that pick for a cheaper replacement. Now they might not get anything for him because teams know he is threatening to hold out and that the Chiefs don't have much leverage.

I thought whole point of not paying Dak top dollar was to get players like Jones otherwise it’s pointless argument by this whole forum.

I would too. But this is yet another guy Dallas has to pay, and he's going to command a hefty contract. I'm assuming you suggest we do that going by the draft capital you're proposing in a trade. The problem is, if they pay Dak and the cap doesn't increase next year, and maybe not too much the year after, it will be tough staying under the cap.

Give it a rest...... This current team looks pretty dam good from where I’m sitting. The only question mark is Dak. Who knows where his head will be if he doesn’t get his 4 yr contact. I hope JJ stands his ground, it’s either 5 yrs or Super Bowl or bust.
We all want more but there is a reality you have to understand
We aren’t in a position to trade top picks and pay top contracts for more toys
