Very well put. Dak struggled in all games when the running game stalled / Defenses using a pressing defensive scheme . He has not taken his game to the next level or proved to the coaches that he can dissect defenses and go win a game when the running game struggles. Such qualities differenciate good QBs from elte QBs. There is a reason Dak's record against such teams is abysmal and why his peers rated him accordingly.

So name these Elite QB's who have winning records against playoff bound teams over their career.......yup you guessed it they have that info and again your choices are very short.......

I know that I saw actual improvement in his ability to read a defense last year. His rookie year, he had no idea what was happening.

Apparently I am.

But that isn't what the league thinks of Dak. He's so easy to prepare for. Requires no gameplanning at all.
You are highly uniformed fan when it comes to Dak. You are blinded by your inexperienced QB eye test....

Get real.

You never really answered it you just danced around it a bit and tried to explain it away. It's a simple question why pay a tier 2 guy top 3 money? The answer is you don't
It is a dumb question.

At least to any football fan who follows the NFL for the past 20 years

Shout out to the Athletic.

NFL off. coordinator on Dak Prescott: “I think people are surprised at how good he is at reading and processing and throwing the ball where it needs to go and throwing it accurately. I have him as a high, high (tier) 2, a top-7 quarterback in the league.”

The tweet's embedded link leads to The Atlantic article, which is a subscription site I do not subscribe. Does the article name the NFL offensive coordinator being quoted?

I am always curious whenever anonymous sources are quoted whenever a given topic does not warrant it in my opinion. What Jon Machota quoted someone saying does not seem important enough to shield the source's identity from the reader.

~snipped for space and clarity~
You guys need to move on from Romo.

I don't get this new thing. Just because someone is critical of Dak it means they 'haven't moved on from Romo"?

Is this something all the Kool Kids Klub is doing now....to be cool? Really In-The-Know.....oh so clever you got everyone figured out.

Just seems so assuming to me....condescending. Doesn't make ya cool at all just a ja.

Great. A top 7 QB who wants top 1-2 money. If he was demanding top 5 money and happy to work with the team on the structure, no problem. Would you pay the 7th best anyone like he was the best at his position? I wouldn't. I like Dak and hope he is the QB in Dallas for a long time and wins super bowls but that is because they are my favorite team, not because I am hung up on Dak Prescott. Same thing as the Adams situation. Yeah, I wanted them to trade for him but after seeing what it would have taken, no thanks. I want them to sign Dak, but not for $38-40 million a year for 4 years with no way to lessen the cap hit.
Its always funny to read a post where the poster has to make assumptions in order to make their point.
You don't know what the sticking point was in the negotiations. It could have been an opt out clause, a no trade clause, guaranteed money, ect.

What the hell is the “Kool kids” and what does that have to do with you letting Romo go?

You have been around long enough to know that comment is pretty much correct. There is a contingent of fans that are going to like or love Dak simply because he isn't Romo and hes had success,.There is also a contingent of fans that are going to hate(or dislike) dak simply because he isn't Romo. There are a contingent that couldn't stand either one of them and a contingent that like both. The most vocal are the first 2 categories.

I knew you had a love affair with Zeke but now Romo too? Interesting

this is so confusing because if Dak is one of the top 5 QBs in the NFL why are “people surprised that he can read defenses and throw the ball accurately”?

shouldn’t that be expected from a top NFL QB?

almost like saying “baseball analysts are surprised Mike Trout can hit the ball”

I support almost all of our players.....Dak too. Greg Hardy? Not so much.

I would say the same about ANYONE. Not just about Romo. It's part of what I don't get...this beechy bickering insults drives me nuts. It puts everyone in a box...kinda like you are doing now. Wasn't even specifically about Romo, but these assumptions you can't criticize a player or you get lumped in with "ya filthy xxxx lover"....I just think it's unbecoming. Silly assumptions....by peopel just wanting to look cool. "Oh look I get to call this jackwagon a Romosexual...I am SO cool!". :(

And to be honest...no I don't really know who hating on Dak because they can;t get over the affair with Romo. Not that it doesn't exist I I just don;t see it. Name names?

I used to try and tell the Dak detractors this, but as someone said, everyone's mind is made up.

Yeah, that's some silly crapp that started getting repeated so much that some bought into it.

Same thing w/ those who insist that people don't want to see Dak paid for some other reason than the salary cap. Those people are so few(if they actually exist) that they're not worth mentioning.
