16 posts in, and no mention of John Fassels' comments about what Al Davis told him about not sharing information, but collecting it. Today, I listened to Stephen Jones 'sharing' information about Sunday's game.

I didn't like it when Dez returned punts early in his career either. Not worth it to risk your future #1 like that.

I knew this was coming.

Antonio Brown was returning punts at the same time that he was leading the NFL in receptions. Getting the ball into the hands of your playmakers is a good idea.

Some folks here act like they've seen punt returners die, or something.

The answer to the question ought to be Cedric Wilson without a debate.

No one needs people getting 40 yard heads of steam at Lambs knees.

Thanks.

No to Cee Dee returning punts, he's too valuable a commodity..Let one of our safeties do it, they all suck.

Haha this is funny, I feel like a first rounder injured on special teams is them dying. The safeties do all suck except woods, he’s alright.

I see why our special teams sucked last year. Too many people on this board want to play it safe in Garrett mode.

What would Jimmy Johnson do?

If you want to downplay the risks of returning punts, then go ahead. Sure there is no risks with a group of players running towards you at top speeds to try to hit you and knock out the ball. I guess there is not less of a risk of a player getting injured playing receiver where people usually have to chase you down from behind versus heading straight at you. And lets ignore the risks and rewards analysis and just have someone unload on our top wideout.

How often do punt returners actually get hurt? If CeeDee’s the best PR on the roster, let him do it.

Stop treating special teams like they’re throwaway snaps.

Why do fans think returning punts is anymore dangerous than catching a pass.
You are still going to take a big hit sometimes.

the gunners at blockers are more at risk than the returner.
It’s not about risks to me
Wilson is just a better punt returner to me

For all you peeps thinking Wilson is the best option...he can do it...but he isn't great @ it. Said it a few weeks ago...letting Tavon Austin walk was a mistake...this is just begging Lamb to get hurt

If it's not Cedee I'm looking at McCarthy as going towards Garrett trajectory.

I think Lamb will get a few chances this season but won't be the full time returner.

I bet he's back there at least once for the opener though.

Will rookie wide receiver CeeDee Lamb return punts Sunday in the season opener against the Los Angeles Rams? “When I was in Oakland, Al Davis once got mad at me. He said ‘Never give information, only get it,’” special teams coordinator John Fassel said. “That one stuck with me, about 12 years ago. So, tune in.” Lamb, wide receiver Cedrick Wilson and cornerback Trevon Diggs were among the punt returners during training camp.
