I'm the first one to complain about the refs when we lose.....I want to be fair and do it in wins too.

Refs did us a solid changing that Gallup call. It proved to be the right call but they had they never changed the call....we can't challenge because we had no timeouts left to challenge. Would've screwed us big.

ON a minor note.....anyone saw that miss of a false start by the Falcons right tackle?

Sure, we caught breaks all game. But we also shot ourselves in the foot so many times with the turnovers and fake punts. Julio Jones catches that pass from Gage and the game is iced. That one looms large.

Yeah that would have been upsetting to lose out on that catch like last week. Would have been talking again how the refs screwed us over again or we wastrd timeouts.

Yeah I can't believe Julio dropped that..........we caught a big break there. We are usually the team that's beating ourselves....we stopped in the 2nd half though......

What was the final explanation of the too many men in the huddle call?

You can do this all day long. They caught a break when Diggs didn't catch the INT that would have ended a late drive they eventually scored on.

And yes, the refs missed a false start of that last TD the falcons scored.

Nonetheless, pretty cleanly officiated game and one we deserved to win.

Don't know. Would love to hear from the NFL on this one because I thought it screwed the Falcons too. I did look into it on my own looking back at the broadcast and in Blandino's explanation, he says that Jones may have cleared the field on the Cowboys' sideline, which is indeed a penalty but he said that is the case "if there's a snap." I didn't see a snap and the officials threw the flag as if it were a 12-men in the huddle penalty which is a penalty where you throw the flag immediately and before any snap happens. An "at the snap" penalty is one where the offending team can call a timeout to reset if they realize what they did, just like in the case of the Butler penalty vs. Green Bay in the playoffs back in 2016. When you look at the tape, officials threw the flag before any snap, then the camera cuts to Julio Jones on his own sideline being stretched out by a trainer. So if the Falcons realized where Jones exited, I think they should have been given an opportunity to call a timeout before the snap. Was still 4th Down and they were going to go for it so who knows what happens.

On the Gallup call, I believe they changed it to a catch BEFORE reviewing. Whether they thought it was a good catch after debate or said, hey let Atlanta challenge if they don't like it and that will prove it to err on the side of the challenge review I don't know. It was just outside of 2:00 so within, that would have been an automatic review. Either way, there was not a lot of clear evidence to say one way or the other but it did look like his butt touched a millisecond before the elbow out of bounds.

Didn't see the false start. When was that? I thought I saw them not call us for offsides once.

Another note from my thread on this is another rule where they could somehow say Julio was part of the 4th Down formation:

"If Team A has more than 11 players in its formation for more than three seconds, or if Team B has more than 11 players in its
formation and the snap is imminent, it is a foul. Once the ball is made ready for play, if either team has more than 11 players in its
formation prior to a free kick, it is also a foul. In these instances, game officials shall blow their whistles immediately and not allow
the snap or kick to occur."

So the only way this occurred is if Jones went to the Dallas sideline and then Atlanta tried to hurry up on offense on their 4th Down attempt and the ball was made ready for play. Jones either stayed there a bit or tried to run back across the field which would probably take more than 3 seconds or the ball was ready for play. However, the broadcast was showing the replay of Julio's drop and when they cut to Ryan, you see him give the "huddle up" sign so they didn't go hurry up. As they showed the replay again you hear that a flag has been thrown but Julio is already on his own sideline being stretched out. So you never see how Julio got there or when he did.

I got the distinct feeling that this was a game where the refs made up for the offensive pass interference on Gallup last game. Never seen them change a call like that before and they also picked up the flag on that play. The funny thing was it wasn't even reviewed or anything.

Yeah but Diggs dropping a INT is more probable than Julio Jones...arguably one of the best receivers of all time dropping a touchdown?

They didn't review the catch. They changed the call on the field and then that's when Falcons challenged. I say it was a break because the could've easily said that wasn't a catch and stuck with that. Could've gone either way.

I agree but we are talking about his hands here.....it wasn't like he wasn't wide open hough. He looked hobbled but on that play he had the corner beat.

Right, that's what I meant when I said "changed it to a catch before review" but I get your point that if they said it was not a catch Dallas couldn't challenge and then this board would be in an uproar about how officials KNEW Dallas couldn't challenge and CHOSE to "screw us" when we'd gotten so close.

There were at least 3 passes the Boys had a very good opportunity to intercept that they dropped That‘s just how the game goes. At the end of every game there are some missed calls and missed opportunities that both teams have to overcome to have a chance to win.

Yeah and man.......how many times have we sat here watching us get screwed? I just knew it would happen again especially after that right tackle didn't get called for a false start.
