Foles is terrible. Stop. LOL. He can't even beat out Mitch Trubisky at this point.

Foles is your once in a lifetime, lightning in a bottle, we got lucky moment when he took Philly to the SB in 2017. Play that season 100 times with Foles and 99 times he probably fails.
foles may not be the same after that injury and being out a whole season, and he aint getting younger.
plus he was at his best with a oc that is now in indy I think, the oc matters a lot.

I wouldn't even give the defense props for that.....what stops did they get? The only reason we won was because we kicked the onside kick and didn't give them the ball.
Well, they did get a stop before the last TD, which was crucial. But overall the defense gave up a lot. Of course, in the first half the offense made their job tougher with the turnovers.

I am considered by some as a dak hater, and I will say he did play good in 2nd half of atl game.
lets see how he does in this next game against a contender type team.
He played outstanding in the first half of the Ram game and other than the dump fumble in the 1st qtr of the Atlanta game he played outsanding the entire game. Last year he came within 1 yard of setting the all time Cowboy passing record. He won Rookie of the Year and he's done all this DESPITE playing for JG. Some people can't see through their own hate and don't have the balls to man up and say they are wrong.

This is the perfect example over skills vs hard work.
Wentz = better natural talent
Dak = hard work that pays off

Wentz turned into an injury prone & complete mess mentally after his injuries. Doesnt help he has trash recievers. Dak turned hard work into leadership and skill improvement.

Unless Wentz somehow does a 180 his time as a starter is slowly fading. Eagles should have kept Foles. For whatever reason when he plays for the Eagles something clicks with him
What does “talent” even mean?

Kyler Murray is like 5’9 over half a foot shorter than wentz and is looking like an MVP candidate.

Yes. Also stopped a run for a 2 yard loss, and between those plays the Falcons had 3rd and long and weren't able to go for a 1st down without a more risky play. So they got a few yards and punted.

Goes for any sport. Some athletes have better given natural abilities over there counterparts.

Natural talent does not always equal success.

He's never really been as sharp after that injury in 2017 when he was having that great season. He's shown flashes but never the consistency that he showed week in and out in 2017.

Wentz isn't as bad as he is made out to be, but certainly he is less productive than Dak. Maybe personal injuries and an inconsistent Oline are factors. I won't loose any sleep over it though.

And that also is with a regressing offensive line with Travis Frederick being out a season with Guillain-Barre Syndrome and not being quite the same when he got back, to the degree he had to retire. Also barely adequate left guard replacement talent and a more frequently dinged up, aging Tyron Smith. Also a receiver corps that had to be upgraded including the tight end position with the retiring Witten in 2018.

I don't knock them for coming up with that sack but Matt Ryan had plenty of time to throw and still took the sack. He probably took it so he wouldn't stop the clock but I thought it was foolish to do. I never got the sense the defense held their own that game. Getting ball at half helped us tremendously.

But a coverage sack is still a stop by the defense - after all, those were defensive players doing the covering.

Overall, I agree that the defense didn't hold up well, but they did hold up better the 2nd half, and only gave up 10 points. Even one more FG and we probably had no chance.

Not taking anything away from them for the coverage sack but if it was any other time in the game Matt Ryan would've thrown that away but he couldn't at that time. I give this defense credit for the times they had them settle for field goals though.

Not everyone who is not sold on Dak is a "hater". Not everyone who is not sold on Dak or do in fact hate Dak are Wentz supporters.

Ever year a high draft pick does not consistently produce the term "potential" becomes an anchor around a players neck. You can see it with Wentz. Dude's mechanics have not really improved. Struggles with throwing high, reading defenses and staring down targets. The last couple of seasons the Birds fanbase has been making excuses for him or giving him the benefit of the doubt. However many of his former supporters are not doing it this year. It is his 5th year and they want to see him step up and show he has made progress.

Even if he would have thrown it away it still would have been 3rd and 12, so the defense would have still put itself in good position.

Anyway, there isn't really much point to going back and forth on that. I agree that the defense wasn't strong enough over the course of the game.

Idk why everyone is obsessed with the word "excuse." QBs need support. All of them. Mahomes isn't Mahomes if he's on the Jets right now.

Wentz right now isn't much different than Dak in the beginning of 2018. Playing poorly, but the surrounding environment is so poor that every mistake looks worse because you can't overcome anything.
The difference is that when Dak had no help, he played like a middling, average starting QB.

Wentz is playing like the worst starting QB in the NFL.

He wasn't good that season either. I was saying the same critiques of him then as I am now.

He is simply to slow in his reads, doesn't come off his primary read very often at all, is not accurate, and fumbles too much.

He was likely going to be the MVP or at least top 3 that year. But yeah, he wasn’t good that year.
