My eyes, you know those two white balls in the middle of our face, doesn't see sacks from the defensive line, EXCEPT, Aldon Smith. I also have seen runners run through this defense. But my eyes could be deceiving me.

There were several snaps last week where Seattle blocked Lawrence with a running back and he got stoned

How much is Tank off the field that you can argue he makes that much of an impact? dPaw could take himself off one play, they get a forty yard pass, but because it’s so low compared to how much he is on the field, his impact would look bigger than it actually was..

Notice how this guy never mentioned Tyrone Crawford ‘eating’ in 2017, DLaws second best season next to 2018. That dude only had 18 solo tackles starting in 14 snaps.

And Randy Gregory had 19 solo tackles, while starting in only one game in 2018 and in limited playing time.

And this guy has the audacity to argue Smith eats because of DLaw, when Smith was arguably one of the best DLs in the game in his second year and on a path to the HOF, notching a 19.5 sack season that DLaw hasn’t even come close to touching and also had 66 combined tackles and 50 solo, assisting on 16. This man had 14 sacks his first season, while that was DLaw’s prime season. Smith in 26 games LESS starting and 21 less overall has 13.5 more sacks than DLaw, meaning a seasons worth for Tank and this dude hadn’t played in 5 years and is killing everybody.

Suspend this man’s Twitter account..

He's probably averaged around 65% game time since his rookie season. He isn't on the field that much.

I was referring to this season alone, of which this stat is based.

Are we at the point of using advanced analytics to justify the 100 million dollar Hotboy?

Does tank draw double coverage and open it up for others? Yes

does tank make the defense better? Yes

does tank make a noticeable impact in the game? No....and that’s the issue

most players paid like he is do all 3 things above, he does 2 of them and for the average fan if they don’t see the impact than there isn’t one

Week 1 46 - 63%
Week 2 28 - 37%
Week 3 31 - 41%

He's been off the field more than he's been on it in 2020

And I’m not sure that 9 pressure is even that accurate OT significant because DLaw has 0 QB hits, while Smith has 6. So what exactly is DLaw pressuring if he’s not getting hits?

I don't disagree.

I would guesstimate that about 50% of snaps Aldon takes are opposite Lawrence but I'm not sure if or if not Aldon's production is better when Lawrence is on the field. Plus Aldon is playing a bit of a funky DPR role a fair bit which has him doing a variety of different things. My feeling (without looking in detail) is that Lawrence has been above average but nowhere near his contract which is a top 5 pass rusher.

How's about we bet on the Over/Under on if DLaw matches last seasons total of 5 sacks.

Tank is not performing. Opposing teams didn’t suddenly decide to scheme him when he got paid. Tank belongs on the back of a milk carton.

Pathetic production for a guy who is getting paid like he is.
