When are we going to accept you can't just offense your way to a title?

The 2018 Chiefs gave up over 23 ppg. They lost the AFC title game 37-31.

The 2019 Chiefs gave up only 16 ppg. They won every playoff game, including the SB, by double digits.

Even the great Mahomes needs some support on the other side of the ball. Yet we've bashed Romo and Dak for not dragging some crap show defense to a title.

I know that it’s not the recipe, just holding out hope that we’ve got a pretty exceptional skill group so as to not tune out in week 7. I’m not naive, just dumb

 Can he score 50 a game?

If our offensive line can get it's act together and keep him upright....I don't see why not. People keep trying to give Prescott all this credit..when it's Kellen's system that was making Dak look good. I seriously think your going to see Dalton be more efficient. We will see. ;)

You were using the no pre season games as an excuse. It’s the same excuse every other team has.

Then you used “new scheme” as an excuse when 2 other teams in our division have the same excuse.

You’re an excuse making loser dude and now you’re crawfishing because you’re running out of excuses.

You have zero idea whether getting players back will help this defense or not. AGAIN, I heard the same thing about Griffen and Poe (automatic upgrades) and how did that work out?

Just stop. Shhhhhhh....

Excuse is not the right word. I don't think the cowboys have a good defense.

I think they will improve, and the improvement will come from more time played together, more time in the new scheme, and players coming back. And if they do improve, they will still not be a really good defense.

But 1 or 2 more stops a game, and a few more turnovers is a big deal

This isn't the Giants who had a great defense, and got healthy in the stretch. This is the Cowboys. I hate to ruin the optimistic crowd here, but there's no Superbowl in this teams near future.

So now, what? What do we need to head in the right direction? Trades, off-season acquirement, cuts, and the like. What are your expectations moving forward, or are you still full of Jerry hype, and believe that we can still pull it off? Discuss.
For me little has changed, I never expected a SB run this year, just a appearance in the playoffs.
I follow and cheer for a few other random teams each year, and I enjoy the whole season, not just the cowboys .
The cowboys are still in it, lol they are in 1st place, and your saying season is over??
And they are fun to watch regardless, I want to see how dalton does, and dinucci, if he is called up to play.

Oh man, I'll watch every game, and have my fun. Playoffs were an expectation for me, but not the snail race we're seeing right now. This is awful, and far worse than I had anticipated.

Trades for picks but it's a waste thinking players coming in will turn things around.

We’ll continue to beat the sub .500 teams, maybe an occasional win against a winning team, homers will get excited and we’ll be dispatched in the 1st or 2nd round of the playoffs.

We’ll then have a low draft pick and another off season full of hype only to get the same results next year.

Rinse and repeat.
:hammer:

Been happening for the past 20+ years

Well another thing to think about, is this crazy season is better than no season at all.
What if they had cancelled the season, then nothing.

The season was over before the season started. This organization overvalues and overpays its players who most are average and below average. We need to quit falling for the "this team is so talented"...no it's not. And if Jones pays dak 40 million per...

DTs are adequate to awful. And whoever they put at S#2.

Probably Steele will be a continued liability, and Knight, Williams, and Biadasz will be below average. The offensive production has been impressive given the meh of the oline.

Good chance to win the NFC Worst. Maybe win a game on wild card weekend? Probably not, though.

I'm far from ready to give up on this season just yet.

There's a long way to go yet before our goose is cooked.

We'll be getting some of our walking wounded back before long.

If our pass rush keep improving & the same w/our secondary, we'll be ok.

The feeling is mutual.

I’d hate to be consistently disappointed because my view of reality is so distorted. Keep living in Never Never Land Peter Pan.

Yes, being an eternal optimist is SO much worse than being an eternal pessimist. The people around me are just devastated that I have a positive outlook. Many have mentioned that it's contagious. We don't want that in our society.

If it's so bad and if you're so certain it won't improve, why do you continue to support an organization you view with disdain?

Oh, and my view of reality is in no way distorted. I just don't tie my every emotion to the outcome of a football game or the length of time it has been since my team has won a SB. You'll now say, 'Neither do I', but you do. That's what makes it sad for the people who have to be around you.
