Why would you pull for a meaningless division title and quick playoff exit over a top 5 draft pick? Its precisely that kind of short term thinking that has doomed this franchise for the past 24 years.

The best thing we can do is repeat what we did yesterday 7 more times. Show improvement by all means but don't actually win a game. Treat 2020 as an elongated preseason for 2021.

I agree. I think building a winning culture; finishing strong with maybe a 5-2 finish (7-9 should take the division); we benefit much more from this than say a top 3 pick. We take the momentum from the strong finish and build on it for next season with 4 key offensive players back from injury. We've got a strong 2020 rookie class which will only be better next year. And hope for another strong 2021 rookie class. Ride Gilbert while the team has confidence in him now.

I want to see wins, I think they can squeeze a few out. Don't care about draft order in all honesty because the Jones' should have proved to y'all by now they can't build a title contender. It's just not going to happen pick 3 or pick 10 it does not matter. My prediction is another offseason of signing scraps, drafting BPA over need, and liking the guys we have.

They have no obligation to go back to Dalton... he was god awful in both starts and duped us all with the win over the Giants.

Keep going with Gilbert and see what he can do.

honestly Ill never root for this team to lose. Most of the tank folks are Dak haters and are under the illusion that Dallas will go after a QB but they wont. I myself want them to pick up the tackle or the linebacker if trade down isn't possible. But mostly after seeing the defense resemble somewhat of a defense and thinking they will get better i would rather just win the East. Host a home game and possibly win. if we draft in 15-20 that isn't going to tick me off. we just need to do a better job of drafting and I'm not sure picking in the top 5 guarantees we will pick the right players.

if we get some players back next year and we support it with a good draft its not out of the question making a deep run next year

We are not going to get Trevor Lawrence. jets have 9 picks in top 3 rounds . If somehow cowboys get ahead of them they will use that firepower to hop scotch over cowboys .
It’s way better to try and start instilling a winning culture with a new coach . Not starting GG signals tanking .

Yep, that was the perfect outcome yesterday. Be very competitive, show improvement, and lose on the last play of the game to preserve our draft pick.

That is how every game the rest of the season should play out.

Too many Dallas fans are playing chess when the real winners in the league are playing checkers. Stop looking for a short-term adrenaline boost. Instead concentrate on a long-term success plan.

Obviously, Stephen is more interested in fulfilling his contract with Andy Dalton than he is in giving GG a chance to establish himself any further. I'm sad but hoping for the best for the team. We'll see how Dalton manages to play in the games that remain. I'm not discounting the possibility that Gilbert might be allowed to finish the year as our backup if Andy fails to do well in the games remaining. Stay tuned.
