i named Parsons if we stay in top 10.
Marvin Wilson if we pick later.
why single me out Grinch.
lol. I really torture that tiny little dog pulling my sleigh don't I?

My bad. I should not be negative towards anyone spitballing potential players. It is the folks who are wanting others to adopt a losing philosophy on a completely unknown outcome that is perplexing.

Who was the elite OT in last year's draft? NYG took OT Andrew Thomas and so far he absolutely stinks.

1) Joe Burrow is going to be good if he can stay healthy.
2) Chase Young - 24 Tackles and 4.5 sacks. Nothing earth-shattering there.
3) Ogudah - 41 Tackles, I INT, and 2 passes defensed.
5) Tua - Nothing special
6) Herbert - Looks pretty good. Can't get wins.
7) Derrick Brown - 14 Tackles, 0 sacks
8) Isaiah Simmons - 32 Tackles, 1 sack
9) C.J Henderson - 27 Tackles, I INT, 6 passes defensed

CeeDee Lamb is as good or better than any of the WRs (Ruggs and Jeudy) taken before him. Diggs looks as good or better than Ogudah. Haven't watched Ogudah much.
Other than Burrow, Young, and Herbert the other 6 players are doing nothing.

Yeah, while we like to have higher draft picks, we are not getting Lawrence or Fields. I don't think teams will be looking to trade for anyone other than Lawrence or Fields. Recent drafts have been just as good in the later part of the rounds as the top part of the rounds.

Enjoy the win and hope Wash and Philly lose.
Yeah, higher draft picks are historically a handicap for teams prospectively.

I just don't understand this mentality at all. I want to WIN. When you go to work do you screw up projects in hope you'll screw your co-worker to get somebody.... that you hope, by luck of the draw, will be better?

Look at the Jets. Picking high every year. Cincinnati, same boat. Some here think that we should lose? I'm sorry, despite any explanation you have on losing, I'm not on that team. If you like the feeling of losing because it may make us better later on.... how do you approach day to day mundane existence? I'll lose today and make things better tomorrow? That makes absolutely no sense. You want better today, and even better tomorrow. At least that's how I see it.

Contrary to the rationale, who wants to lose? I like when the Cowboys win. We are not a good team, but I would never want us to lose. Ever. Regardless of our record. A high draft pick guarantees us nothing, but a win gives some hope that we can build off of that. It also makes you feel good at the end of the day. I don't understand the mentality of losing on purpose to win later on. We can get any highly touted player you want, but if you follow the NFL draft, and the players drafted top ten, it does not guarantee nothing. Bottom line to me, it is Jerry and Stephen. It has been over 25 years that we've done anything of substance, and tanking, on top of their sorry ability of managing the team is the problem. It will continue in my opinion. So, enjoy the wins because when it matters, the losses come when we don't want them to. An unexpected win here and there, as a Cowboy's fan is gravy in my book, although the pages are plenty empty where it counts.

You might of started being a fan in 1963 but at some point you stopped being a fan. A REAL fan NEVER wants their team to lose. Are you going to go in the corner and cry because the Cowboys will pick later now?

What would we do without these posters that tries to force their definition of fandom down other people’s throats?

That’s right I want the best draft pick we can get. Sorry if you don’t agree. A fan since 1963.
me too....the higher the pick, the better off we are at this point. but then again we beat a 2-9 team, with their back up QB and ton of injuries...all this did is tell us we are not bottom of the barrell...

And that doesn't even take into consideration that next year's crop of college players is hit or miss dues to covid and opting out. How can you scout a guy who hasn't taken meaningful snaps in a year.

My general feeling going into each game this year after week 5 is mostly whatever happens, happens. It's nice to get a win, but if they're competitive and lose, better draft position is a nice consolation.

Fan base is split here, it seems.

I want wins. The Cowboys have proven time and time again that they can draft well in the mid to late first round.

+100......In fact, they kinda scare me with a top 5 pick (lol). Jerry tends to mess obvious and simple things up (lol).

So called fans want to tank.

Professional players and coaching staffs want to win games. There isn’t a team in the NFL that is going to send players onto the field to tank.

What do you want them to do?

Play half hearted and get their *** demolished and potentially carted off the field because they got knocked the **** out? That’s what happens when you step onto an NFL field half hearted and that is one of many reasons no player is ever going to do that, let alone an entire team.

What the hell is wrong with you people?

You are right. At this point, it is better to lose this game, leapfrog Cincinnati in the draft. Every win from here on out only hurts this team.

Some of Y'all remind me of guys in a golf scramble who sandbag the first day of the tournament so they can be placed in a lower flight and have a better chance of wining against players of lesser skill. If you're gonna play, then play to win because, oh .. I don't know .. because you're a professional athlete, a competitor who's been competing since you were 8-years old.

But whatever.

Are you saying you dont understand the value of picking high in the draft?

EVERYONE knows that but first picking high in the draft DOES NOT guarantee success. There have been teams that have picked high in the draft multiple years in a row that don't get better. I was raised to try my hardest at everything I do so when the Cowboys came into the league and I became a Cowboys fan I expected they would to do their best to win. That first season wasn't very good but they did get better. I root for the Cowboys to win EVERY game and accept the eventual draft order as the result of winning games. I DON'T sellout my rooting for the Cowboys for a higher draft pick. I'll bet that you can be cheaply paid off to do things that others wouldn't do at any price.

What we did was dumb today. What was the win for? Honor? Integrity? Because winning against not only a meddling, weak Bengals team that is missing their QB sad and sorry, but it messed up our draft pick in the process. AND BEFORE anyone says “Oh oh a high draft pick means nothing!!” We could’ve traded down that high draft pick for more picks!! It’s clear as day that our secondary is depleted and that we need more players on defense/O-line in case someone goes out with an injury. A surplus of (good) draft picks will help with that tremendously. However, Dallas cannot even tank right. We will be the 5-6 draft pick AT BEST. If we win against Philly, we’re looking to be anywhere from the 9-12 pick. How stupid.

Dallas is playing with a piecemeal OL, secondary was banged up ad starting QB out, so Dallas is going into games shorthanded and backup and in some cases backup to backups are playing, these guys are fighting to show they belong in the NFL. People want the team to tank? unless they just forfeit the games outright what do you want them to do? backups are already playing in these games.

Actually it's EXTREMELY easy to figure out. The definition of being a fan DOES NOT include wanting or hoping what someone is a fan of to lose. Those that claim to be fans but want their team to lose just want the definition changed to fit what they are doing so they can continue to claim to be fans.
