Every team in the league has managed these things - including injuries.

The Giants lost their franchise running back, the 49ers lost their QB,Tight end Joey Bosa, Carolina has lost McCafrey for most of the season, the Bengals lost their QB, the Stealers lost their RB's, Denver lost Von Miller and list goes on. Losing Dak was a big hit but the difference between everybody else in the league and the Cowboys is one indefensibl and obvious thing.

The effort on this team is disgraceful and nothing is worse than that.
The Giants, Niners, Broncos and Panthers are all having poor seasons. The Steelers running backs were meh.

i do not care about all the injures and covid messing every thing up. not for one second! i am not saying this team should be 9-3 or what ever but the job this coaching staff have done is 100% inexcusible! there is no excuse for so many player on d being lost on every play, mis communication all the time that lead to huge chunk yardage, poor fundamental (tackling, angles, awareness... every thing).

also stupid play calling and very stupid decison making. u just can not blame this on injures or covid im sorry! these are not excuse that work to explain how u get out schemed every single week!

jerry has a belief that he builded a SUPER BOWL roster and even if they were healthy guess what kind of team u meet in the playoff? other big time talent where u actually have to out scheme and out play and out smart the opponent! does this coaching staff ever show they can do that? wake up man! it goes for his boy kellen just as much!

this is very frustrating to watch!

Why not flip that and say “hey this guy folded under adversity” and isn’t very good. He doesn’t get a free pass because of COVID he’s not a doctor or a nurse that’s working tirelessly. He’s a football coach paid to make football decisions. And he sucked and is continuing to suck at it.
Did he fold under adversity, or did he never even have the chance to succeed? After all, with no OTA's, an abbreviated training camp, and no preseason games, did he really have a chance to put his plans into effect? Those are the questions.

I think Jerry will give McCarthy another year to find out the answers to those questions. If he fires McCarthy now he won't have the chance to find out. I also suspect he might find some difficulty recruiting a new coach (one with strong credentials anyway) if they knew Jerry wouldn't give a second year under such extraordinary circumstances.

No he’s not. No one did less with what he was given in the amount of time he had to do it than Jason Garrett. MM has won a SB.
Well he had a great defense, and a very young rodgers. I think they won the sb for him, made him look better than he is.
Just looking at this year alone, MM is worse than JG. the in game blunders are way worse. He made the defense worse, and really the whole team
worse except maybe spec teams.

Jason Garrett > McCarthy

In 2015, Garrett went 4-12.
Lost starting QB Romo after 4 games.

In 2020, McCarthy probably ends up 4-12.
Lost starting QB Prescott after 4 games.
Also lost both OT's, C, RG, TE, and numerous defensive players.

Garrett better than McCarthy?? Not in my book. After 10 years Garrett was a total loss.

You seriously dont believe this was a tough year for this team.....seriously... not even Belichick or Payton or whoeverncouldve done much better with this team this year. You cant blow everything up after 1 year. Jimmy Js first year or so was even worse than this

The difference being Payton and/or Belichick won’t put up with players giving less than 100%. They bench them for someone who will give 100%. That is the issue I have, more so than actually losing. No accountability and this “we have to do better” nonsense is just that.......nonsense.

You don't believe injuries and covid haven't messed up the Cowboys?

Seriously?

Exactly how was this coaching staff supposed to put in their system with no offseason, no minicamp, no QB camp, no training camp, and no preseason games? On top of that the Cowboys are in the middle of the historic worse injury filled season in the teams history.
I don't appreciate your common sense comments. ;)

Those teams all had a returning head coach and most of their coaching staff intact, so they weren't starting over with new coaches and no OTAs or preseason, and an abbreviated TC.

Besides, how have those teams managed so much better than Dallas? The 49ers only have one more win than Dallas, and they were in the Super Bowl last year. Carolina has the same record as the Cowboys. The Giants only have one more win than the Cowboys, as does Denver. The Bengals only have 2 wins.

We should have kept Jason.

Big Mike and his buddies have destroyed the team.

At least we know what we had in Jason. It was boring, but he won games.

I can only imagine the meltdown on here if the Zone had existed in Jimmy's first year. Or Troy's.

Hindsight is 20/20, but precognition is, um..., difficult.

This season is just about impossible to evaluate fairly. We have never experienced anything like this off-season or season in the history of sport.

Making decisions with such uncertainty is difficult but pretending like you're certain one way or another is just a waste of everybody's time.

Even Mike Nolan is difficult to gauge. His was the completely new system and it's obvious that the players are struggling to grasp their assignments.

you can be mad and call all of that excuses but cause and effect is real even if you don't like it.

Country club atmosphere.

It's existed for years.

Has to change or this team won't ever win it all again.

I don't even know what that means. the players have been showing up and working out and training and they play their tales off for the most part during the games.

most of the issues that I see have nothing to do with leisure that has to do with stupid.

Watching Jaylonn Smith play cluelessly is his problem not his work ethic or desire.

Jaylon leads the team in tackles.

We did, for 10 freaking years of mediocrity. If you're happy with mediocrity and no championships, then that explains your position.

No, injuries destroyed the team.

Yeah, 8-8.
Oh BTW, how many games did Jason win in 2015? 4! He went 4-12.
You know, that's when he lost his QB (Romo) to injuries after 4 games, like we lost Prescott after 4 games.
Sound familiar?

Hes fat Garrett. He got exposed this year from his good ole boy hiring to his lax structure. Garrett probably wouldve squeezed out a lucky ring with Rodgers Im now convinced.

Let's hope this idiot's comments don't represent those of the collective team! If Jaylon's words mirror this teams' collective attitude, it explains why this team has been so bad.
