As much as I like Donovan Wilson making plays.. I’ve also watched him via All22 give up a couple TDs bc he misread the play and was out of position. Just keeping it real

This coming from a huge fan of Wilson and I’ve been advocating he have a chance to play more.

.. but let’s not drool too much. Give credit where credit is do, but he still has his flaws and has a lot to learn. Of course, if your the type to only talk about his splash plays and never about his undisciplined coverage.. go right ahead.

I think he can be coached up on those parts. At least he attacks the ball. That's an improvement off the start.

The Dallas Cowboys haven’t had very many bright spots in 2020, but second-year Safety Donovan Wilson is certainly starting to look like one. In fact, his play this season might just earn him a starting job next season in 2021.

After missing the previous two weeks with a groin injury Donovan Wilson was entering Week 15 already with three forced fumbles under his belt, two of which he recovered. Now he can add an interception to his resume after picking off San Francisco 49ers QB Nick Mullins.

The former Texas A&M safety is putting together quite a resume in his second year with the Dallas Cowboys. It took injuries and poor play for the coaching staff to finally get him more involved, but once they did he started making his presence known on the backend of the defense.

To date he’s played a little over half of the defensive snaps this season and about the same on special teams. But, that’s been enough for him to showcase the kind of playmaker he could be as a full-time starter. Surprisingly enough, it’s not going unnoticed.

Even a young Wilson getting his first real shot at starting is better then the horrid heath. Hopefully we have found one starter.

safeties who can generate turnovers are gold,i would take them even if they not that good at covering.

He has as you guys say "Flashed" at times. Who knows what the draft and FA will dish up. I can't see a area that he would at least not be part of the rotation.

I like him and ready to move on from woods.

I remember Woods was ranked as high as a 3rd round pick, and many a 4th round. Fans was wondering why they kept passing on him. The TV pundits the same thing.
I did not want him that high. But when they got him in the 6th, I was ok with that. Then all the pundits was saying it was a steal.

Well I am still waiting on what was stolen. :muttley:

I said Woods would be on the PS that year, but made the team. A few years later, I was ok, maybe, I was wrong, he could be good, but not a starter, but could learn.
Well, not so much. He can hit hard, but nothing else at this point. Time to move on.
Not saying I was right, but he just did not work out, it happens, they tried.

Based on his strong PS play before 2019 season, he should’ve started LAST YEAR. I hate how this franchise misuses players. Disgusting. On and BTW, X Woods sucks.

Jeff Cavanaugh says he can't cover.

Made a pretty good read and break on the football for that interception.
I like the kid he has a bit of Roy Williams in him but I think Cavenaugh is on to something. I think if Wilson had shortcomings it’s in his coverage but he did make a good read and break on that int

Yep a little pass pressure can make DBs look good. This kid is a keeper regardless.

Agreed. Woods is good depth, just not quite starter material...yet

I see a young player who is growing in experience now that he has had a chance to be a starter and is producing. I think he has the chance to improve as he gains more experience. He in my view has been a pleasant surprise.

Friend of mines son works with A&M DBs...when Dallas took him in 6th round my friends son said Wilson would turn into one of the best late round pics Dallas ever made. Said kid is a true hardcore baller...an assassin. Said only thing he needs is reps and more reps and that he was one of the most coachable kids he ever worked with....

I love Wilson's game and I been wanting to see him for a year now.......but he would not stop me from looking at a safety. I think this is what happens to this team they see a guy who looks better than what they had and then they abandon the position just to find out that guy isn't really much better. Happened with Heath and Woods....hell I Guess it happened with Darian Thompson somewhat....

That's usually what fans say of their "pet cats" or players who play for the school they watch.
