If I were a Giant, particularly that HC, I'd keep my mouth shut. The Eagles are not responsible for him not making the playoffs, he is. As far as he would never do that, if Mara told him to do it, what would he do? Quit?

I live in the Eagles/Giants territory and both sides mad although most of the Giants fans I know are happy about the better draft pick. The league has no balls so they won't do anything about it.
When you get philly fans that call it a disgrace....that means something coming from those *ssholes

I think he’s a moron. No way Gase told him to do that and then fired him and if they were all on board with tanking he wouldn’t have been fired.
Gase was probably getting axed anyways and he knew that so why would he want to further ruin is “look” as a HC by helping a team that he knew he wouldn’t be coaching for get a better draft pick?
Pederson on the other hand, he was on the hot seat as well and doubt he would have had made that move without a call from Lurie or he at least got his blessing.

Just penalize the team by changing their draft position to 32nd, and everything will be fine.

They really should but it would be hard to penalize and prove a team tanked on purpose....but I wish they could do this.

Doug Pederson found himself in hot water with New York Giants fans after appearing to tank a critical game against Washington on Sunday but reports on Tuesday indicated that the head coach is now on the outs with several people within the Philadelphia Eagles organization as well.
Sources told The Philadelphia Inquirer that two defensive players had to be held back from a heated sideline confrontation with Pederson while center Jason Kelce and another offensive starter approached the coach to ask why starter Jalen Hurts was pulled when the Eagles were only trailing by three.

Once Pederson's job was safe; there's no reason for them to win that game and knock themselves out of the 6th selection in the upcoming draft.
Which is why I didn't see Cowboys making the playoffs this year if the end result was relying on Philly to beat Washington in order for us to get the nod. Philly radio would have raked Pederson through coals all offseason for winning a meaningless game while putting the much hated Cowboys inthe playoffs as a result.
We can talk about integrity all you want but at the end of the day, if Pederson's action resulted solidifying #6 spot and bad press run for the week, then so be it. Its not like we didn't see Cincy and Washington tank last year for Burrow/ Young.

Does the NFL have anything in their by-laws covering losing to improve draft position?
If they were going to pursue this, they'd have to blow his post game comments up and I don't think they can.

The game was meaningless for them and an opportunity to look at players under real game conditions. Fact

And the biggest ? of all. How many other owners would have done the same thing under those circumstances? Unknown How do the owners of the 7 and 8 picking team feel about getting knocked down the board? I think they expected it.
That's what the Eagles fans wanted them to do. If the Cowboys had been out of it as they were and looking at moving into the 6th spot by losing a meaningless game, how many would have on board with that here? We have fans, and they are fans just like the other fans, glad they lost the Giants game.
The only reason we're rounding up the pitchforks and torches is because it's the Eagles.

Exactly, it's crazy that people here called for us to tank when things were going very badly.
You never tank, period. I'm glad as it looks like Philthy is going to take it on the chin for quite some time.
