Step 1: Draft a MLB (5-Star Field General type)
Step 2: Move LVE back to WILL.
Step 3: See if a SAM can found in FA.
Step 4: Make Jaylon a STs captain and backup.

The comparison of Zach Collins to LVE before the injuries is spot on. I think he is more of 3/4 outside linebacker compared to LVE because he is a better pass rusher. Pauline said he is a top 12 pick right now and I bet he got that from the Cowboys scouts. He probably fits Nolan’s defense better then Quinn’s though.

Are their any small school linebackers with tools that we develop in the middle rounds like we did with Hitchens and Coakley?

Dane on this week's draft show mentioned two players, if the Cowboys did address the Linebacker need early: Tony Fields West Virginia & Garrett Wallow TCU. Both would be day 3 picks, just like Hitchens was.

I would not hate trading back up into the last 1st or early 2nd to get him.

He's a jerk.

We need jerks.

In my opinion, Bolton has the potential to make the biggest impact of any other player the Cowboys decide to draft this season. Him alone, would help our run defense go for league worst to middle of the league. I just don't think the Cowboys draft him, for years they have targeted all world athletes at the position. Sean Lee might be the last so called "football player" they chose at the position.

Nick Bolton is the guy I want too. Although I like Zaven Collins as well and think he could play mike. I say grab one of them, plug them in at mike and then let the chips fall where they may in regards to LVE and Jaylon. There is the possibility neither one is here after 2021 anyway.

Perfect world they upgrade the mike, move Lve to the will and Jaylon to the strong playing about 20% of the snaps.

Easy...you improve the talent at DT in front of them and you upgrade Jaylon.

I’m not ready to throw the towel in on LVE...I’ve seen him play at an all pro level as a rookie. He just needs to stay healthy. If he gets banged up again this year replace him.

I think with Lve, it's certainly his health, but missing so much time has hurt his development. He's got to get his swagger back and stop thinking so much.

Collins may not be our pick at 10 but will be in serious consideration. He is going higher the lots of fans want to believe. Right now he probably the second best linebacker in the draft next to Parsons.

It's Parsons, then either Collings/JOK, then Bolton.

NICK BOLTON

Missouri linebacker Nick Bolton projects as an impact starter at the NFL level thanks to his linear explosiveness to trigger and attack between the tackles and his ability to deliver jarring hits to ball carriers. Bolton has a pro-ready build and carries himself with confidence in traffic—for better and for worse. Bolton was a standout in Missouri’s defensive front and his role as the leader and enforcer of the Tigers' defense has groomed him well for a featured role in the heart of an NFL defense. Bolton’s prowess in the passing game shines in zone coverage, as he can drive on shallow routes that flash in front of his face and make receivers think twice about coming over the middle. But there’s plenty of room for improvement in Bolton’s game in space, both with angles to attack throws and his decision-making process to work overtop of the play versus shooting gaps to try to get home and create a splash play in the backfield. Bolton has come on strong after entering his sophomore season in 2019 as a first-year starter, so there should be plenty of optimism that Bolton can continue to hone his decision-making process and develop into a more consistent fill player and coverage option. Teams who implement a lot of green-dog blitzes and pressure schemes up the middle will love the leverage, twitch, and hitting power that Bolton brings to the football field.

Ideal Role: Starting MIKE linebacker.

Scheme Fit: Single-gap penetration front with shallow zone tendencies on B-level.

I would rather finally put resources at DT than LBs.

Both proved that they can play very good to elite in the NFL.

Its tough for any LB in the league if your DTs let through all the trash untouched.

If they still suck with a basic 4-3 and good DT play than we draft LB next year or the year after.

Off topic a little bit brother but how do you think fans would have reacted to Ramsey if we drafted him instead of Zeke. After watching him Saturday I believe the fans would have turned on him. Ramsey would probably be making 120 million instead of 90 million for Zeke. My point is the Zone would have never been happy.

For the Cowboys it is probably Parsons 1, Collins 2 and 3 could be any number of guys. Quinn drafted smaller linebackers with Atlanta so maybe JOK.

Jones was good with Atlanta cause he was protected by front. Until the Cowboys fix the interior of the DL, taking an undersized linebacker makes little sense.

Both the Rams/Seahawks gave up multiple #1 draft picks for secondary players, neither team even made it to the conference championship. If the Cowboys did the same thing, fans would be complaining years about it. Hell, the Seattle GM just got an extension.
