The NFC East is ripe for the Cowboys to dominate.

Philadelphia just hired a nothing Head Coach and have serious roster issues.

Washington has a solid HC and pretty good defensive front but their QB situation is unsettled.

The Giants are a mess and Jason Garrett calls their plays.

If the following things happen, the Cowboys own the East the next few years:
  • Dak is re-signed
  • OL is healthy
  • Quinn is actually a good DC and not the Jason Garrett equivalent of a HC he showed (respected but no tactical advantage, slogans over substance) to be in Atlanta.
  • The FO goes out and fixes the Defense with quality free agent upgrades and focusing on defenders in the draft. The Cowboys have 6 picks in the first 4 rounds. Would love to see us 4 defenders who can contribute on defense.

Deshaun Watson...
what a colossal moron.

Brady wins 6 Championships and has 20 years in the NFL, yet isn't even re-signed by the Patriots.

Watson has accomplished nothing except stats - yet thinks he should have the final say in the GM and head coaching hires.

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:
Honestly with top players from New England that opted out due to...... things beyond our control...... Brady wouldn't have led the Patriots to the playoffs this year. I think it's deeper than Patriots didn't resign Brady cause they thought he was done or something like that.

As far as Watson, he is overrated

Despite there being a huge opening for the next NFC Powerhouse team, Dallas will not be one of them despite having “potential” on the offense. What a joke. It’s out there for us to grab, but our coaching, defense, and GM will find a way to screw it all up.

The new Erod!

So basically the whole conference is going to become the NFC East.

Seriously. Every post is so dark and damned now it feels like it’s not even the same poster.

He basically said our ability to compete is doomed, so I asked him why he was here. Why be a Cowboy fan? What’s the point? He said he was smart enough to know that Dallas would never compete.

Superbowl Champ will come from the AFC the next 5-10 years without some fluke luck ...well atleast after Brady hangs em up.

Its absolutely insane how stacked the AFC is gonna be with Top tier QBS and Teams that have build Contenders the last few years.

Mahomes
Allen
Herbert
Mayfield
Lamar
Tannehill
Burrow

Soon to come
Lawrence to Jax

Trade rumours have Watson to the Jets and who knows were Stafford and Rodgers gonna end up.

Stafford might end up with the Broncos and Rodgers with the Patriots...

Cowboys will have a really good chance the next 3-5 years in the NFC if they keep Dak, make sure the O-Line is healthy and has enough good Backups and get a freakin Defense.

Theres not a better chance to get past the Divisional Round for the next 3-5 years most likely.

The NFC is wide open.

Brees, Brady and Rodgers are all likely done at various points over the next 3 years. Matt Ryan is 35 with his best days behind him and Stafford is likely going to be traded (one would think they’d prefer to trade him into the AFC). Kirk Cousins ain’t it in Minnesota. The two “sure thing” QBs in this draft are likely going to be picked by AFC teams.

Other than Russell Wilson in Seattle, who in the NFC has their long term answer at QB currently on the roster? Are Kyler Murray, Jimmy G and Jared Goff better longterm answers than Dak?

I’ll be interested to see who makes a run at Deshaun Watson, but to be honest outside of Seattle I wouldn’t trade our 5 year QB forecast for any others in the conference right now.

The bigger point though is that there could be a real paucity of QB play and resulting team quality in the NFC going forward.

I think that you bring up an excellent point. There's certainly a changing of the guard occurring at the top of the league in terms of top quarterbacks. And there definitely look to be more questions than answers in the NFC in particular.

In our own division, we suddenly look to be in the best position for sure, provided the expected return of Prescott occurs. Washington doesn't have a quarterback, the Eagles clearly have a mess on their hands, and the jury is still out on Jones in New York.

In the South, Brees is expected to retire, Brady might this year as well, and Carolina I think is still looking, and as you mentioned, Ryan is starting his downslide as well.

The NFC North has Rodgers, and a bunch of question marks. Who's the quarterback in Chicago, and Detroit post-Stafford? And I think the verdict is in on who Kirk Cousisn is and who he isn't.

And in the West, I think Wilson is far and away the only sure thing. Murray is a nice gimmick quarterback at this point, and Garopolo and Geoff may not even be back with their current teams next year.

There are definitely a lot of questions as well as a lot of moving parts. As with 2020, I expect to see a lot of name quarterbacks on the move in 2021, and a realignment of the power structures of the league as well.

All this talk about QBs, and it doesn't matter if the Cowboys keep trotting out garbage defenses.

Brady threw 3 picks today. His defense forced a punt after 2 of them. The Cowboys would've given up 17-21 points.

That's certainly what's been holding this team back.

That is arguable as regards QBs.

ACTUALLY

Right now with Rodgers, Wilson and Brady the NFC has more of the top QBS then the AFC which at this moment has Mahoones and then Jackson. Allen? well he crapped the bed yesterday. Jackson has not shown up in the playoffs. Mayfield has not shown himself to be elite. Burrow has potential but ain't there yet. Herbert certainly does not scare me. Tannehill? Seriously?

Now admittedly in the NFC as regards YOUNG QBs it is not as good so maybe in three years or so the OP might be right.

Doing the "Dak".

With my arthritic knees, I am envious of that right hip and knee movement.

In the next few years our QB situation will remain middle of the pack while new up and comers will take over and rise to the new standard. How sad that we're hoping all competition disappears so that we "have a chance"

Correct, the NFC is QB weak and soon to be even more starved for talent at QB.
Below I rank em, as I see em currently and hypothesize how long they have left.

NFCN:
GB- I don't think ARod #1 goes anywhere for at least 3 years, no heir yet.
DET- openly trying to trade Stafford #6, means they're all in to drafting one at 7, or trading up for one. Who will they get?
CHI- Tribisky#16 is out, looking for a new QB, Stafford could end up here, but not for long. no heir yet
MIN- Cousins #10 isn't bad, but isn't great either. They have a couple more years before they move on. no heir yet

NFCS:
TB- Brady #2 will not be able to hold off father time for much longer, 2 years max. no heir yet
NO- Brees #3 is reportedly walking away, if so I'm not scared of Hill or Winston.
ATL- Ryan #9 is digressing quickly but they won't be able to move on just yet. no heir yet
CAR- Bridgewater #14 is meh and they my try to make a move, I think he stays, but for how long? no heir yet

NFCW:
SF- Jimmy G #12 may not be the answer, but their not done trying to find out. no heir yet
ARZ- Murray #7 is young and exciting, how long will he hold up?
LAR- Goff #8 isn't going anywhere yet, not great, not bad
SEA- Wilson #4 is the next top QB in the NFC, Still in his prime, no heir yet.

NFCE:
DAL- Dak #5, he is top 5 QB currently in the NFC. That number goes up as the old heads retire. #signhim
NYG- Daniels #13 doesn't scare anyone, could become solid, but not a danger
WFT- Smith #15 will be gone soon and they have nothing behind him. no heir yet
PHI- Wentz #11 will get a chance to save his career, not sure how that works out. no heir yet

why not trade dak and go after rogers hes not happy and yes id take him over dak for short run like Brady and Manning have done late in their careers. Other then that yes dak might be best option outside iof a draftee to start grooming asap..

BTW there are no SURE Things in the draft..seriously, both could be great or busts..

one of the other QBs could end up being special one never knows..
