I'd take him in a heartbeat and let LVE walk if he doesn't take a team friendly deal.

Eh, I would be holding off on any new deal with LVE, team friendly or not. Year 4 is coming, time for him to show he belongs or bye bye.

Yeah, agree (sadly). Besides, with the injuries he's had, there's ample reason not to sign him before his rookie deal is up. Now there's some risk, if he stays healthy and has even a pretty good year, some bozo team with more salary cap space than sense will offer him scads of money to come play for them and Dallas won't be able or willing to sign him, if for no other reason than you can't sign everybody to a huge deal, no team can.

But even with a really good year, the injuries, and the neck surgery, will limit those teams....

I'm a huge Penn State fan and I live just outside of Harrisburg PA.
I have watched Micah play his entire life. There is no question the kid is a freak athlete.

Pros:
He has all the physical tools you could ever want in a defensive player; size, athleticism, toughness, strength and motor. He can make plays all along the line. He has the quickness, speed and power to get in the back field in a hurry. Disrupting both pass and run plays. He's a tackle machine, rarely misses when he has a chance to make a play. He can take over a game, at times.

Cons:
He has the motor, but can take plays off at times. I do not see him as a great coverage LB at all. At times, he doesn't diagnose plays extremely fast. He can be late on his reads and trail the play. He was not a good student and was very immature in high school. That immaturity carried over early on at PSU. As evident in his role in the hazing lawsuit.
However, from what I have heard from my source; who is an alum that sometimes works out and is friends with many of the team members, especially the LB's; since that incident he has greatly matured and buckled down. His grades would indicate that as they have improved drastically. And I have not heard anything but good things about him recently.

Take that for what it's worth. The teams will have to decide if they think he's matured enough to have that kind of $ and fame.

If Dallas drafts him at 10 and plays him close to the line I have no doubt they'd get a good football player.
But I'm not 100% sold they'd get a great football player, with zero issues.
appreciate the take as people close tend to know.

I say evaluate and draft him as an edge. D. Brugler says he's the best edge rusher in the draft.

We'll teach him how to cover in year 2.

No thanks. Clone of Jaylon Smith. I'd be tempted to take the Oline tackle and trade Tyron Smith away. That's if he's available by our pick. Tyron Smith would be worth a high 1 or high 2 at best with a player or two back to Dallas. Trade em while you can still get a return for.

One of the talking heads (Easterling?) tweeted today that Parsons is falling due to character concerns.

Top 10 likely. Somebody will take him
That’s my thought. I don’t see how we pass on him. Broncos and panthers could take offense or cb. Worst case thing could be parsons slater and Sewell all gone before us and we have no trade partners

I don't blame him for opting out but it does put everyone a year away from seeing him play.
And a guy who had maturity question marks can;t answer those at home in California away from his team.

He's a monster athlete and i'm sure he will help someone but he's not a guy I'd want for Dallas at 10.
The maturity issues are concerning. We already made a late first round mistake with Taco who had maturity issues, I'm not sure I would want to roll the dice at pick 10 on another, especially an off linebacker with questionable coverage skills.

He would be a clone only if he had one severely messed up peroneal nerve like Jaylon.

A healthy Jaylon out of college would have been a top 5 pick - dude just can't ran laterally anymore.

I see that comparison to jaylon often. You’re right tho and I think the same. If you’re comparing him to jaylon coming out of college before the injury and we picked parsons at 10 it would be steal like jaylon would have been as well pre leg
