Should Dak even play this year? Or should he take a year off?

Ok now if it were me, and what all went into repairing his broken ankle, I dont think I would play on it this
coming season.
Better to give it all a full year from the time I can walk, to actually trying to play football.
If he plays this season, he could break it again, as there is no way it can be healed up completely.

The rigors of football and the hits he could take on that ankle, like someone grabbing his ankle and
then his body gets thrown another way, if it isnt totally healed up it could cause damage to that ankle, or
break it again.
I dont think it is smart for him to play this fall.

I agree with the OP. It's dangerous. He's too important to risk. He should take a year or two off to make sure. Just sit back, relax, feed the pigeons and grow the beard. Dallas can just draft a QB to hold his spot until he returns.

ha ha flamma ! lol make fun of me !
But he could retire from nfl, wait 1 season, then come out of retirement, and be right where he is now. Cowboys might have another qb, but
he could win the job back or go to another team.
Dak has millions in the bank, he doesnt have to play this next season.

And replace the pidgeons with some hot girls, and it aint so bad??

Only way he doesn't play is if he isn't medically cleared. Sounds like the rehab is going well and he's on track to be ready for the off season workouts. He'll be playing.
Romo was cleared to play, and 10 days later rebroke his clavicle ! Yeah he was fully recovered and medically cleared

I will bump this thread when dak re injures his ankle.

I think he needs to play and It will be on the tag again. Not saying it like dallas has a chance to be a contender but he needs to prove he's still dak and a top 10 qb now and that the injury didn't ruin who he was.

Don Meredith played with injuries that would've put most men in the hospital.

I agree that the ankle will not be 100% healed by the time spring training rolls around. That was a gruesome injury. Being medically cleared and 100% healthy is not the same thing. I am sure he will be medically cleared and he will run the risk of reinjury, but there is no way he AND his agent are going to leave money on the table this year and delay his FA bid another year. Time is an enemy. So we will see what we will see.

After the Injury I'd give him 33 per but I fully expect him to be tagged again. I like dak but hes not worth near 40mil even if he didnt get a severe injury!

It was an ankle injury, not an Achilles, knee or neck. As soon as he’s medically cleared to play, he’ll play.

Dude, not making fun of you at all. I rarely do that in general. Your opinion is as good as mine. I was just using your post to bash Dak. Everything you say makes sense. It's a viable option. But coming off of this injury and Dak being a competitor he's going to want to play. Yeah he's loaded. But he's probably not going to want someone else to take his place.

Why do people pretend to be doctors when they aren’t. Every doctor has said Dak will be more than healthy by training camp let alone the season. This thread is stupid
