What if Dallas picks a QB at 10?

Don't laugh because there is a real possibility that this can happen. This is not something that I came up with either. Many analysts and writers, some in Dallas as well, are speculating this. I know the odds are against it but what if Jerry and Dak can't work things out? Its becoming more and more common in the NFL where a team has a solid starter and still uses a high pick on a QB. My question is who do you think will be there at 10? PS ...I am a huge Dak fan but things are not looking good............

Unless we learn that Dak is not recovering as well as expected or that he will be compromised, we won’t draft a QB in round 1 at 10. If we want a new QB, we will package Dak to move up for one.

How does one package Dak to move up? After he's signed to a long term deal? After he signs a franchise tag one year offer for $37+ million? If he's signing that before the draft it's because he knows that his ankle is toast, in which case another team isn't going to take that horrid contract with health concerns. He can't be traded unless he at least signs the 1 year franchise deal.

If Dak doesn't want to sign a reasonable deal early in FA I am trying to trade him and acquire picks. The money saved I would spend on FA's and go into the draft and get BPA or potentially move up for a long term QB.
FA Signings
Andy Dalton QB on a 2 year deal to help ease the transition of a new QB.
JJ Watt add a veteran leader who can play anywhere on the d-line.
Patrick Peterson to be the veteran in the secondary and have him play Nickel and FS.
KJ Wright to be a veteran leader in the LB area.
None of the moves will be long term deal but with all the draft picks that we have, and if you trade Dak you will add more to the cupboard you could add a lot to your team as far as youth and having guys on the field to coach them up and teach them how to be professionals is going to be key for a culture change.

If Dak hasn’t signed by the draft we have to take a QB at 10

The Cowboys need to make this very very clear to Dak and his team

he will be tagged and traded if he hadn’t signed a long term deal by the draft

You lost me with Dalton on a two year contract. You saw last season the guy does not have the arm strength anymore.

I'd be just fine as long as they spent big in free agency on DT, FS. Oh...and plan on trading back into the 1st for a CB.

Bruh, it's hard to see a worthy QB sitting there at 10, and if one is there the temptation to trade the pick to the highest bidder is too of a deal.

I think Dallas should look into drafting a QB in the first rounds to develop over the Nooch.

What bridge QB would you go after if Dak doesn't re-sign a long term deal? Keep him on a 1 year deal and be held hostage even more than what you are now and let him walk for a 3rd round comp pick if he decides to walk, or trade him now and get at least a 1st round pick and more?

If you draft a guy in the first round you start him. A bridge quarterback is a waste of money and resources. There are plenty of bums that can backup.

Depends on the player, Lawrence, Fields, and Wilson sure but would you have Trey Lance as your starting QB week 1 I am not sure.

You have him run the football like Lamar Jackson. Don’t worry though Dak will be the quarterback next season.

At this point if they don't figure out a long term deal trade him. Zero interest in another of him on the franchise. 0

If Dak isn't signed and Lawrence, Fields, or Wilson are there, and Dallas takes them at 10, I think they start. I think Dalton starts if not, and they end up taking Lance or Mac Jones.
Lots of trades available if not though. Tua, Mariota, and various others could be stop gaps. Lots of choices this year for sure. Better QB coaching is definitely needed if Dak leaves. Davis Mills - Stanford is my QB I think Dallas should draft with the 4th Comp or in the 5th. Kellen Mond basically is Dak lite coming out of college, but his inconsistencies drive me insane and I wouldn't touch him with a 10ft pole.

If they draft a QB at 10
You have to immediately trade Dak and Cooper
And get the most highest draft capital you can.
