We cant guarantee 4-5 years out of Russ, its the same with Dak. Plus Russ is going to want a knew deal that will be more than what Dak is asking.

You have no idea if Wilson would want a new deal.

I get it. It's tough for you Dak guys to face a situation where the Cowboys are linked to a QB that's just better than Dak.

But fret not, there is probably zero chance Wilson will end up here. What Seattle is going to want to eat that bonus money is going to be way too much for the Cowboys' taste. Your bigger fear should be the draft. If Dallas can't get Dak signed, don't be surprised if they go QB early.

Love how people bring up SB rings as evidence that one QB is better than another. What’s even more funny is that some of the dame people who use that argument against Dak are the same ones who say Romo was better than Eli and his TWO rings. Hypocrites.

By that logic the legendary Garrett Gilbert is our only QB with a ring, so he should clearly be the starter. Don't mind that he got his while on the Patriots practice squad!

The prospect of Russell Wison becoming a Dallas Cowboy just shined a bright light on how little Dak Prescott brings to the table and how overpaid he would be at any price more than $15-$20 million per year.
Russell Wilson is the real deal; he is a real leader and he makes his team better. He is easily worth top money, and has the ring to prove it.
Dak has been living in a fantasy football world, and his fans point to his stats as evidence that he is a top quarterback, but his poor record in big games speaks for itself and tells a different story.
Russell Wilson has the ring, and no one would dare try to compare apples to apples between he and Dak. It's not even close.
And regardless of whether or not Russell Wilson comes to the Cowboys, Dak's real value- or lack thereof- is now more clear than ever before.
He's not the guy.
Russ and Dak have the same amount of playoff wins since Dak got into the league......

It's has nothing to do with being a Dak guy, you assume too freaking much, stay on topic. Why would Wilson come here on 1 year of guarantee money that's all left on his contract. Also, who cares if he linked by outside people, I don't, I know it's not happening, bit to act like getting Russell would somehow greatly improve the team is dilusional.

Because he's only going to be play in Seattle on one year of guaranteed money. His contract situation is the same whether he plays in Seattle or somewhere else. And most likely, in order to facility a trade, the new team would likely guarantee future base salaries but that doesn't change the mathematics of the cap savings a team could get by having Wilson instead of paying Dak a new contract.

Again, Wilson and his agent are smart. They know if they want out of Seattle, there is no way they can demand a massive new deal right away because they know teams aren't going to give up the sheer boatload of assets to get Wilson to then just turn around and pay him a massive deal. One of the reasons he's even as attractive as he is in a trade is precisely because of the cap hits and the fact Seattle got a bit silly handing him all that bonus money which now they have to account for. If Wilson is going to demand a massive new deal in order to agree to a trade, then teams simply aren't going to be as interested in acquiring him for all those assets.

Again, this isn't that difficult to figure out.

Lol at you thinking he's going to just walk onto another team with just 1 year of guarantee money. Also, when Dak signs his cap hit won't be 35+ million this year, they will spread it out to lower that amount. No it's not difficult to figure out.

Did you read what I wrote?

First, he likely wouldn't play on just one year guaranteed salary. More than likely, and this has been done in other trades, the new team acquiring a player guarantees all or a portion of future salaries. So likely, in order to get a trade facilitated, the new team would guarantee his 2022 and 2023 salaries. In terms of cap space, it doesn't change much for the new team other than if they wanted to cut him in the future, which likely wouldn't be the case. I said this above.

Two, I didn't say cap hit this year. I said next year. If the Cowboys cram down Dak's cap hit this year, it has to go onto future years meaning that in 2022, when Wilson's cap hit would be $24MM, Dak's is likely going to be in excess of $35 million or more depending on big a contract Dak might get from Dallas.

LOL.....Sydla, Sydla, can't believe you don't or can't see the logic here. 2022 and 2023 non-guaranteed money on his contract ( below ) is $19M and 22M respectively. Based on your logic, Rusell will happy with a new team telling him he's only worth approx $21M per year over the next two years. Also if you recall most, if not ALL 5-year contracts are really three years of real money, at which time teams either move on from the player or restructure. Bottom line, Wilson up for a new deal, and pretty sure he's looking for market value......notice what Spotrac says he's worth.

BTW .....I agree he better than Dak but not cheaper, at all.

Then he's not getting trade any time soon. Because no one is going to give up a crazy offer to get Seattle to eat all that cap hit AND THEN turn around and pay him a ridiculous Mahomes-like contract right away. It's just not going to happen.

That's the point. If he wants out of Seattle (and who knows if he does), he and agent aren't morons. They know that one of the things that makes him attractive to a team about to give up multiple first round picks to acquire him is the cap hits over the next few years. So they'll likely negotiate converting base to guarantees, maybe bump up somethings. But if they think they can get Seattle to trade him and then demand a massive new contract, guess what?

He's not leaving Seattle.

I don't think it's a coincidence he's airing his dirty laundry in public for the first time as a Seahawk QB AND the fact he's one the last year of guaranteed money. My guess is he and his agent have approached the Seahawks about a new deal and have gotten mixed signals. Remember his statement was he'd like to stay in Seattle but gave them names of 4/5 preferred team for a trade. Just me but to translate......think he's saying he wants a new deal from the Seahawks but if they are not willing to pay him he wants out.

It’s kind of a douchey move. Seattle gave him a ton of cash upfront. That’s why Seattle’s cap hit if they moved him would he insane.
