ok, so you want to tell me Aikma, Emitt, Haley, Irvin, Johnson had nothing to do with it? Allen was great. the greatest of all time, but after those guys retired, he didn't make it back... again I loved Allen..... he was the greatest guard and perhaps top 5 OL man regardless of position who ever played the game

Nope, I don't want to tell you they had nothing to do with it. I literally said I was kidding...and went on to talk about getting lots of other players.

it's not a bad idea. If you can get a proven starter on defense its worth it. Not going to be able to afford him next year. This defense is gosh awful.
If we can't afford him next year then how can we afford the proven defensive player you want to trade him for? Or are you suggesting we take a bad deal by trading for a defensive player of much lesser value? It's a bad idea.

Going to take 2-3 seasons to address and fix the problems this team/organization has. Hoping they can be contenders in 2-3 seasons at the latest. Dallas has an easy schedule this season so I'm hoping they can at least have a good upcoming season but I dont expect it.
They can't wait 3 seasons because if they fix the current issues in 3 years then it's too late because in 3 years the window for both of your starting tackles, WR #1 and #2, and your #1 DE will all be gone

Trade Galloway? LOL You mean Gallup... No! bad idea.
I remember that huge Jerry Dumbo GM Jones trade he made for a WR that never made a Pro Bowl giving up 2 no.1 picks. Absolutely insane. Then he trades a no. 1 pick for Roy Williams who the 0-16 Lions were going to cut or dump on the free agent market. Lets get on the other side of these dumb WR trades.

In 3 years Gallup has shown more and done more that Galloway during his Cowboy days. Get value for him before you let him go. See Belichick do it all the time.

I think its going to take at least 2. But I agree. After this season Gallup will be gone also.

People need to stop with the trading of Gallup.

No we don't. Gallup is an asset to be used for the improvement of the team. He'll be gone in a year. At some value in trade, the trade value, over comp pick value, is higher than the value of that year to us.

We get a 3rd or 4th after he leaves so I wouldn’t take less than a late 2nd for Gallup.

I rate Gallup highly but I feel like we could get a slot WR in the 3rd round and have him compete with Wilson to start. That puts us in a position to use a 1st, 2x 2nds and a 3rd to fix the defense and shore up OT. Definitely worth considering. We could also sign a defensive player on a 2 year deal knowing we definitely aren’t going to need to find cap space to sign Gallup.

It would be different if we had long-term plans for Gallup but I can’t see how we keep Gallup long-term with the current roster.

SUH@!@@@ really....he needs to be a rotational guy, surronded by a bunch of talent and a sueprbowl ready team. he ain't improving anyone and he is towards the end of his career. lets stop making this old, over the hill, multiple team players into something they are not...I rather take a chance on a rookie, than bring Suh in.

why sign Malik Hooker...to a one year deal? makes no sense.

How many guards do you want to sign? how much money do we want to spend on Guards...no team makes it to the superbowl because they have the greatest guards in the league.....

I rather, keep all our draft picks. stay young. evaluate what we have and then figure out what we need to do in 2022, FA and Draft.....bringing in a bunch of older players, will only keep the young players from playing and getting properly evaluated....none of those guys are difference makers...these defensive players will get this defense from bottom feeding to almost bottom feeding.
Suh is a good starting rotational DT and he is credited for working out DTs like Malik Collins to get his pay day from the Raiders. Most of all he has the ability is availability which none of the cowboys DT have to date.

Malik Hooker has not played 2 years in a row since high school so why give him anything longer than a prove it year contract.

Drew Brees just retired and you said no team makes it to a Super Bowl with Super OGs..tell that to Pro Bowler OGs Jahri Evans and Carl Nicks. QBs do not like pressure up the middle. Stop waiting for Connor Williams to never be strong enough at OG. Draft or sign a former Big 10 or SEC RT or LT and put him inside and your OG problems are solved for 5-10 years (see Collins and Martin).

Nobody is trading away draft picks unless some one gives me a no. 1 in 2022 for a 5 spot trade down in this year draft. My suggestion is to get more raffle tickets in a draft without a full college off season, college season, combine, and limited Pro Days so your scouting is not going to be up to par as it was before the pandemic. More raffle draft pick tickets, more chances to get a winner.

Cowboys need defensive players that can stay on the field on defense. That would be the difference maker.

I don't see the Cowboys ever letting this kid go. They'll cut bait with Amari Cooper before that let Gallup go. Lamb and Gallup are going to play their entire careers in Dallas with Dak throwing them the rock.

Many problems ....like an offensive line that is VERY prone to injury with no great backups. Here we go again. How long do these guys last into the season?? How long does Prescott last after Smith goes down & out?? And we ALL know he will never make it thru the entire season. Blind side tackles keep the qbs head attached to his shoulders. How long does Daks ankle last when 3 of his starting linemen are out and he’s running for his life every pass play. Everyone’s worried about the defense....I get it.....And the duct tape offensive line the coaches finally stuck together did play pretty well towards the end of the season but do we really think that group would hold up an entire season against playoff caliber teams?? I doubt it......I guess I’m saying it would be so typical for the Cowboys to fix one thing (Defense) and put no effort or money into an area that’s just as important. And to disregard the offensive line right after opening the bank volt for Dak.......Doesn’t that sound Just Like Our Cowboys

Gallup?
No one is giving a 1st for Gallup. I don't think even a 2nd. I'll take a 3rd and like it. More optimistically, PFF wrote of a scenario of Miami giving us their 3rd and 4th.

Maybe Gallup brings us a 4th round comp pick, meaning *bottom* of the 4th. That's the ground floor from which to judge a trade for our one remaining year of Gallup.

Gallup is going to be someone's #1 receiver and will get big money; we should try to get at least a 3rd for him.

cooper is only 26 and by far the better receiver. Don’t forget that a chunck of Gallup’s success is bc he’s been the number 2 guy so drawing 2nd best coverage which helps .

he’s good but he’s not Amari and further more Amari is in his prime on a contract for the next few years....you don’t trade him unles you get the farm

If this team could get a late first for Gallup then they will have gotten use out of him plus gotten more value back than it cost to get him which would be smart business
Cooper disappears in some games. Gallup isn’t perfect either. But I stick to my guns and trade Cooper first

I agree that Jerry Dumbo GM Jones would let go Cooper in favor of Gallup.

However, Gallup is not in the same hemisphere a talent that Amari Cooper is at WR. People forget that Cooper held all those single season Bama records at WR.

Gallops stock should rise if we get both starting OT back. The turnstiles there didn't give Dalton 2.5 seconds to get the ball downfield to him much last year. And since we don't like to have our WR's learn more than 1 trick he doesn't run much underneath or shallow routes....it's boom or bust for him a majority of the time. If a team gets hot and needs a deep threat receiver maybe we get a 2nd or 3rd for him, I doubt a 1 but you never know.

If you think I said anything to the contrary, you'd be wrong.

Cowboys have many problems that have not been addressed. Fix It:
  1. Contact Dolphins and Tennessee and send a 6th round pick Dolphins to and 7th round to Titans for the rights to Isaiah Wilson, OL. Joe Philbin is an excellent OL coach and Wilson is an A+ athlete at OG/OT.
  2. Sign Ndamukong Suh DT, team him up with your young DTs and you improve immediately.
  3. Sign Alvin "Bud" Dupree DE/OLB
  4. Malik Hooker S (1 year deal)
  5. Sign Eric Reid, FS/SS his 4.50 speed, Safety flex. Had a year off with new perspective. Was a locker room leader in Carolina and SF. Only true freshman to start at LSU (with Petersen, Claiborne, and the Honey Badger).
  6. Sign Trai Turner OG. Lets just get Connor Williams out of the starting line up and move on.
None of those things will happen.

If he leaves in free agency next year for big money we will get a 3rd/4th compensatory pick.
