I wouldn’t be surprised if Moehrig goes to Jacksonville...

imma be disappointed if we don't have at least one trade up today. instead of just getting bodies, go get who we need. vets on one 1 year deals and UDFA can fill out the rest of the roster after the draft.

We can still get Werner and / or Browning. We still need LB's for depth. I am not sold on Gifford and Bernard, nor on Neal as a full time LB.
And according to some, LVE & Jaylon need replaced, if not now, then next year. So yes, draft both of them.

As far as concerning depth goes, Safety and LB are up there just speaking in terms of bodies..not even the lack of talent.

I think there are going to be quite a few disappointed Cowboys fans, myself included, when they pass on the opportunity to pick up Barmore..or any DLineman honestly.

If the team is smart, they will be looking to add talent. That means either side of the ball.

Creed Humphrey is a hellaciously good value at this point.

I agree. I also like Taven Collins the Washington DT. Wrs as well.

Id prefer a S/CB in the second, I just dont want up to reach or trade to much.

Value is the name of the game. You cant just pick for need and expect it to turn out. Thats what FA is for.

I think we have to go CB at #44 or we are running a massive risk. Once you get past the top 8 guys, there's a dropoff.

Only way around that is to package two 3's and move back up which would be a bit of a bummer.

Kelvin Joseph is probably the closest comp to Horn/Surtain quite frankly at this stage.

Cant reach for a CB now. Wont fill every hole this year.

With four picks today they have a chance to seriously upgrade our talent level. Here are the remaining prospects with starter grades:
JOK
Christian Barmore
Elijah Moore
Teven Jenkins
Landon Dickerson
Javonte Williams
Azeez Ojulari
Trevon Moehrig
Tyson Campbell
Nick Bolton
Tommy Tremble
Chris Rumph
Levi Onwuzurike
Quinn Meinerz
Ifeatu Melifonwu
Pat Freiermuth

Asente Samuel?

It’s going to be interesting to see how the Cowboys rate these DTs. It’s also going to be interesting if the Cowboys see any real drop off from the 2/3 round guys vs the later round guys.

I think the safety class is somewhat weak. A lack of first round safeties seems to support that. I wouldn’t force that pick.

Is a rookie CB going to be any better than Lewis? IDK but probably not. More upside, but not an instant starter. Maybe the Tulsa corner from last year is our secret weapon. Who knows.

Draft BPA all the way. Fill in the holes after teams make room for rookies after cutting vets. The result will be much better than forcing picks that will bust.

I hope we don’t force a pick. Stick to our board. It will be OK.
At this point in the draft a rookie CB may not be any better than Lewis but we need one either way
And you want one you think can soon be better than Lewis
I loved Lewis early on but he really hasn’t became what I thought he could
Hopefully this is the year
I hope we don’t see what those later picks bring
I hope we use them to go get the players they want rather than what falls to them
We aren’t keeping 11 guys, why make 11 picks
I’d rather have 5 good picks

They have him in the next tier.

Aaron Robinson 6.28
Kelvin Joseph 6.26
Robert Rochell 6.25
Elijah Molden 6.25
Asante Samuel 6.24

You must be using one particular ranking. Ive seen him and the 5th or 6th corner.

NFL, as I said they like him but had some dings on technique and physical traits.

Weaknesses
  • Doesn't get eyes on quarterback often enough for coverage clues.
  • Opens hips early, allowing route runner the advantage.
  • Brief stall to drive from the top of his drop.
  • Too grabby and undisciplined with back to the ball.
  • History of pass interference penalties, with many of them unnecessary.
  • Average lateral burst in transitions and long speed deep.
  • Needs to get off receiver's run block sooner.
  • Inconsistent running feet through the tackle.
