Variety released their list of the 100 most viewed tv shows and highest rated shows for last year. The top 5 is all NFL.
People love to call out Doom upon the NFL for whatever reasons they got in their heads, but it's still the same ol' ratings juggernaut it's always been and will continue to be.
Even moreso now that everyone is streaming/dl'ing/watching shows later, but not the live event of an NFL game. They watch those commercials.

Peeps can point to raw numbers, but things are always more nuanced than the raw numbers.

@CouchCoach could probably drop some serious knowledge upon the subject.

I only know a bit from my work in the business, which is admittedly more on the outside looking in on that side of work.

We are human we want gladiators, and then some crepe eaters prefer golf.
All great empires eventually fail, Rome failed, but the gladiator survives,,, in all of us.
NFL will continue to be strong, but the younger demographic is an issue that the mighty empire that is the NFL must address.

I hear you.
I think they'll adjust when the time is right.

no idea if young adults are watching the nfl or not but I think since most that age do everything streaming/mobile wise the nfl needs to make their app and their gamepass better including live games.

The mlb app is awesome. You can watch a tv broadcast with the teams radio broadcast in synch with a few clicks. The nfl needs to go down this road.

it won't change anything. Only a matter of time before someone says something like

"it doesn't matter what the salary cap is, anything over 10 mil a year for Dak is still taking up to much money that we could use to extend Damontae Kazee after his upcoming all-pro year"
If we didn’t have Dak’s contract, we might have been able to outbid the Jags for Tebow.

Agree, and they have to trash the entire DTV monopoly on season ticket,, they can be making more by mobilizing like you say and selling a wider variety of options, packages, even ala carte menu, if you just want to watch a single game out of market.

Come on brah, you can't be this dense. The topic is literally the 2022 cap..... Lol of course I provided you the 2022 cap numbers it's the TOPIC! LOL
Ok, the 2022 cap is a non issue because vets on big contracts will be gone. DLaw may be gone, Coop may be gone, T. Smith may be gone, Zeke may be gone and J. Smith may be gone. That’s 93 mil right there. So please, give me a freakin break.

No, but fan interest generates the base line.
It’s huge money but the tv deals is the main money
And in the future it’s gonna grow even higher with more streaming option and higher prices for tv deals
I don’t think the ticket revenue can really grow much. They are bordering on pricing average fans out of the ability to see a live game

In 2022 he's a 27 million dollar cap hit. A 19 million hit if Dallas releases him. I'm thinking he's going to at least need to earn that in 2021.

I see that the other way around. Especially with Jerry. If he is paying 19 million then the guy is going to try and earn his money. I would agree with him on Lawrence. He may not have big sack numbers, but he is top of the line with everything else.

BS, this is huge . I guess you obviously have no clue to the cap ramifications and how it applies to the Cowboys.
Direct your sarcasm elsewhere my guy. I know it very well if only you knew. However if you read my response to the other guy I was telling him it was a good thing as he was saying don't believe the hype of the cap increase

https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2021/05/26/salary-cap-ceiling-for-2022-set-at-208-2-million/

The NFL salary cap dropped to $182.5 million for the 2021 season as a result of revenue shortfalls related to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the 2020 season, but it is expected to go back up during the 2022 season.

It will be some time before we learn exactly how much the cap will go up, but we learned on Wednesday what kind of parameters the league will be operating under as it heads toward that declaration.

According to multiple reports, the NFL and NFL Players Association have agreed to set a ceiling of $208.2 million. If the cap were to get that high, it would represent a 14 percent increase over the 2021 season.

It would also represent a new high for the salary cap in NFL history. The 2019 season was played with a cap of $198.2 million, which would mark a jump of about eight percent and a significant reversal of what teams had to deal with this year.
Attendance in the sports world is down because of politics . .
Why is the NFL so arrogant

Please explain. Reading previous posts you’ve made doesn’t mean anything because I have no clue what you’re referring to. Spell it out here so we can move forward.
