I have to question the validity and source of this rumor.
I don't think it matters.

Not like this is the first time his name has been associated with being gone due to poor play.

If the name was Gallup, or Cooper....or Martin...I would definitely be concerned about the credibility of the source.

That all said, you're right. There's crap for accountability anymore. Just say "league sources" and you can basically say whatever you want.

I'm sure the Cowboys would love to trade Jaylon and his contract, but this "report" is nonsense. It's freaking Landry Hat people. They know less than the rest of us.

"Sources said a number of teams had their pro scouts look review Smith’s tape, but they did not like what they saw, so their organizations declined to pursue him in a trade.”

Lol

They probably watched that clip when Jaylon chased down a ball carrier who strangely enough wasn’t carrying a football.

Smith is that homely girl your friend fixed you up with so that you would have a date...thus you can't get out of it. lol...YOU ARE STUCK WITH HER FOR THAT NIGHT. That is where we are with Jaylon.
I recall that happening to me but I made the best of it. That girl turned out to be a freak... if you know what I mean. ;)

Rumor is they had a trade during the draft and Stephen nixed it.
No data on what the trade brought back but presumably it was AFTER the Parsons pick so obviously less than an R1.

A team trading for him would only have taken on 7.2m GTD this year though next years 9.2m guarantees 5 days into the league year next year.
With the ability to massively lower cap hits he could offer appeal to many teams.

DAL would have owed about +1M in dead money this year but been totally off the hook then.

so???

that my answer not surprised and hes still here and will get a lot of snaps and fans wont like it but most payers with big deals are up on trade bocks , i mean if its knock on JS how about Julio Jones >???hes on the trade block and so far no takers..hmmm

Not a bad trade idea, but that'd be a lot of WRs lol. Then again, how does one defend Coop, Gallup, Lamb, Julio, Wilson, and Fohoku or whoever remains on the team at WR.

I remember reading an article from this “writer” about how terrible Michael Gallup is. Yeah… I wouldn’t listen to a damn thing this guy has to say. He’s just a fan trying to think of things to say, and what’s more, he doesn’t understand what he’s watching on a football field.

The Landry Hat is horrible and this guy fits right in there.

Anyone that watched the Cowboys and saw Smith was horrified at what they saw. To actually break down the film play by play and single out Jaylon must have been horrifying. No wonder they ran for the hills. Anyone spouting off that Jaylon is really a good linebacker is sorely mistaken. The guy has been completely exposed.

At the very least I can find solace in the fact that the FO tried to do the right thing and get rid of him. It also makes more even more confident he is gone after this season.

Dallas thought someone would take on that contract?

You were the guy telling us all how great of a linebacker Jaylon is. Also couldn't stop going on and on about how elite LVE is in coverage. Once again, your wrong way nonsense gets exposed.

He has talent and will have a great year with this staff. Coaching matters

The gig is up. Stop embarrassing yourself and the rest of us with those type of comments. Jaylon sucked in 2016, 2019, and 2020. He had a good year in 2018 and solid year in 2017. THATS IT!!
