I think Dak proved last year that him being healthy or not doesn't make a difference on the teams overall success.

The team will elevate Dak. Make no mistake about that. He's not that kind of QB that makes a difference.

This will be the Dak haters narrative after we win the SB, and Dak gets MVP. It was the team and Dak had nothing to do with it. But man lose it, and it will be all Dak's fault.

Brent Maher didn't help us. He was money from long range, but couldn't hit the water from short range if he fell out of a boat. Chris Jones' punting ability sucked. I remember our defence was awful too. Dak has a few games where I can say he did contribute to losing like the Eagles game. However, a lot of games involved horrible defence. The Bills game and the Bears game (which I attended) are examples of games that the defence was useless in. I mean, I don't care what rating your defence is, if you can't stop Mitch Trubisky from scoring on the ground from 30 yards out, you know your defence sucks. Also, we now have on our team one of the players on that Bears team that kept Zeke blocked up for that game. So, that should help this defence.

Well, he was on a tear, a record setting pace, when he went down and the team was 1-3. If you were told any QB was putting up those numbers, would you guess 1-3?

Those numbers are just like what used to be in the age of the balanced offense in the NFL, QB's putting up gaudy numbers had losing records. If you wanted to see the teams not in the playoffs, just check the passing stats and the leaders weren't going anywhere.

You mean last year when the defense was the worst in Cowboys history? And you're going to blame Dak? Haters gonna hate.

Does that matter? I agree, it's not about one player, it's about the team.

I flat out do not get the hate and attack or love and defend any player. Damn, some of this looks like teenage girls with their favs in boy bands.

Not one poster here knows Dak. He doesn't owe any of you money, didn't take your girl or rescue your child from a fire and isn't a relative.

One of the benefits of Romo retiring was the bickering might subside but no, it just changed players and sides. I feel like I am stuck in the middle of some Hatfield and McCoys BS and it takes over almost every thread.

BTW, this is me posting, the poster, not the mod. Me in Groundhog Day with Dak Prescott.

I root for the laundry and ignore who is in it most of the time. It is a game and they are players in the game.

I celebrated plays made by those players but not them making the plays. I tried to ignore the parts and focus on the whole.
Oh ok yeah you look at the game completely different than I do. If I see Lamb score a touchdown its Lamb scoring not the Cowboys. If I see a scumbag like Hardy getting a sack.....its Hardy. These players are more than just a piece of cloth to me. I get invested in these guys like they are family. I root for them to do well on and off the field.

I already know that's what it will be. They won't kill my joy though Dak and this team gets a ring you can't tell me nothing. He will be a big part of it whether they want to admit it or not. There's still some hold over of fans still mad that Dak unsat Romo.

You played your hand. You lost this one when you showed that you can't defend your emotional points with anything concrete.
Lost to whom though you? You've said not ONE FACT lol. You are trolling and i'm allowing you to do it with me lol. Because I know your game. Anyone who does this on a burner account says more about them than anything.

If he can stay upright for 17 games we should win the division. I’m not sure he can though with the injury concerns of our OL.

And in the event Dak does miss some time doesn’t look like we’ve addressed our backup QB adequately either. These are my biggest concerns.

But if Dak can remain healthy lighting up this offense and our defense is improved to at least top 20 instead of worst we could make some noise.

The NFC once you get past Tampa and a Green Bay with Rodgers, is fair game.
th

Im not worried about the Oline so much or Dak. Biggest concern is the improvements on defense for me.

Speaking of burner accounts...I find it really, REALLY odd that you and another certain user always seem to be the main culprits of this kind of attitude. All emotion and no substance.

You both act exactly the same. You both defend each other. You both like each others posts. You both butt into each other conversations out of nowhere.

You talk about burner accounts? I think you're projecting a little.

Of course but would it matter if we lose Dak a few games. This defense isn’t going to be improved enough to carry this team to a few wins without Dak. And we don’t have a seasoned backup who could maybe win a few games if needed.

You're trying to deflect lol. But what other account are you talking about?

Definitely would be the biggest loss if it happened.

One major injury does not lead to other injuries happening for every player

Or we can hope it will be a one-time thing. Perhaps Prescott can return to have a career similar to two other QBs in terms of durability:
Tom Brady - had that knee injury in the 2008 opener and missed the rest of that season, but returned in 2009 and has not missed a game (except for four due to suspension at the start of 2012) in the 12 seasons that followed.
Matt Ryan - in his 13-season career so far, he has missed only 3 games...and this is despite him getting sacked 42, 48, and 41 times the last 3 years respectively.
True but more of the exception than the rule.

Yep

Some teams have a top 10 defense or seasoned backup QB that can carry the team or pull out a few wins. I’m not sure we have either if Dak went down for a few games. And why I’ve suggested our season rest on Daks health.
