I think what gets lost is the reason why Jimmy won championships here. Jerry hired Jimmy and that was a great decision but Jerry was leveraged up to his eyeballs in debt from purchasing the team and he focused most of his attention on repaying the debt and turning the Cowboys into a money maker. Up until that point, owners would lose money because it was more of a hobby owning the team instead of the cash cow the NFL is these days (largely because Jerry caused the paradigm shift).

Since Jerry was focused on the money, it left Jimmy to focus on the team building. That partnership was successful. Then the debt was paid off, the team was winning, Cowboys were making money and Jerry had to meddle.

The team held on for one more SB before the downward trend began. Jerry wanted a new stadium and he brought in Tuna to help rebuild the team but started meddling there forcing him out early.

Jerry would be a great owner if he would just hire smart football talent and write the checks. He doesn’t do that and it’s the reason people are sick of him.

You have it backwards, I don't work for Jerry, Jerry actually works for the fans and being a boss I know how to fire and hire and if Jerry did work for me he'd of been fired long ago. The folks who work for Jerry are sycophant's and just grab the $$$ they couldn't care less what type of boss Jerry is, remember "friends and family" and that's no way to run a business . Jerry didn’t win us 3 championships; Jimmy was the mastermind behind those 3 trophies. Jerry hated riding the coat tails of Jimmy and playing 2nd. Jimmy made the trades, picked the players and whipped them into champions. Those teams were so talented; you could’ve went down to the nearest zoo and picked any zoo animal to coach those guys. Sorry Switzer!

without Jerry, jimmy doesn't hire him ,meaning no trophies Jerry did win us 3 championships by buying a team going after his friend and ex teammate as HC and the unpopular cahonies to fire Landry and start from scratch , brought all the money to assemble the team around and go buy players,,

jimmy wins nothing with Jerry so its either both or Jerry because Jerry would have brought in anther guy and well Johnson wouldn't not have had shot at all..

Get passed it..Jimmy didnt ask jerry to buy a team and hire him , so none of this happens without jerry,PERIOD
