-Team made it through the off-season without major injuries. Except for a few players on short-term ir, they head into the season pretty healthy. Let's hope that continues throughout the season.

-Defense is be all about improving against the run and creating turnovers. If they still struggle stopping the run, we will see similar results. It is difficult for any defense to have to play the run/pass on 3rd and shorts and be able to get off the field. Get teams in obvious passing situations will be a recipe for success. Turnovers will come if they can get teams in these passing situations. It's time for Randy Gregory to arrive!!

-Offense has a lot to fix up, more so then many are talking about. Slow starts have killed this team since Moore became the OC. You cannot be successful if you are always playing from behind. Must improve their ability to finish drives, cannot have self-induced, drive killing penalties nor take sacks taking them out of scoring range. The Cowboy Offense under Dak last yr, lead the league in turnovers, that has to greatly improve to have any chance. OL must stay healthy as their is a huge drop-off, outside of McGovern. Time for CeeDee Lamb to become that alpha on our offense and Zeke to have a huge rebound season.

-I worry about our PK, missing almost the entire off-season. It's time to make our special teams more of a weapon, then one that was afraid to make any mistakes. Teams who are successful find ways to win in all three phases of the game.

I am caution opportunistic about this upcoming season. They have the talent to compete against all the top teams, but do they have the mental toughness to be able to overcome the difficult hurdles throughout a long season. Time will tell. Big season for MM.

The goal for this team should be to make the playoffs. And the good news is in our division everyone has a real shot. This is a team that has to rely on a lot of young talent. The QB, health, and a middle of the pack defense would go a long way in getting us there.

Good post

Mental toughness no
Talent deficiency at key positions
Streaky team with little backbone
Average coaching

Bad combination

I wouldn’t be surprised at 12/5 or 7/10
Somewhere in between might win the division.

I really do not know what to expect opening game. I keep a positive attitude and joke about how we will win. Though I do believe we can win. But also know we can look bad and loose also.
I would not bet any money we would win or cover the spread or anything like that.

I think it will take time for our defense to play as a unit. I have confidence our offense can score and keep us in the game. Key there can the OL protect Dak, or give him enough time to throw, open up lanes for Zeke, and Tony.

Defense, if they can just contain the run game to a decent 2nd and long, 3rd and long. That will help a lot.

I think ball control in the run game is the way to go. Keep it out of Brady's hand, and protect our defense until we see how they actually play.

Specifically speaking vs TB next week, our secondary faces an incredible test to open the season. You have the greatest QB to ever play the game and a plethora of pass catching weapons at his disposal. Obviously, we are going to have to find a way to negate that talent deficiency at DB to give us a chance to win. Dan Quinn is going to be put to the test early, let’s see if he can have this defense perform better than the individual talent it has, especially at DB.

Garrett cursed this team with not being able to score early and we were always playing from behind. We just don't know how to score in the firsrt quarter and its been like that for years.

I do believe this team will get better and better as we go this season, but a QB that hasn't played in a real game for what, 11 months? And a young team with all these rookies...... Asking a team like that to beat the SB champs in game #1? Sounds like a pretty tall order to me. I'd love to see them shake things up and pull out a win, but I wouldn't bet on it.

But I'm pull'n for 'em!! :flagwave:

No curse just ineptness to move the ball esp against good defenses.
We've been watching the same movie for 4 seasons where we fail to score points early and often.
Once the defense lays back with a comfortable lead in prevent here come Dak-Friendly with false hopes and another Loss on the books!
How long do you want the defense to hang on when our offense leaves them out there scoreless????????????
There are numerous results that confirm the above.

- The offense is not without its chinks in its armor. OT Collins being held back due to stingers is a big deal. His absence is a weak link in the O-line that defensive coaches will quickly take advantage of. Mike McCarthy is on the record for saying he's not in favor of moving Zack Martin over to tackle so expect the RT position to be filled by a temporary patch in the form of Ty Nsekhe.

- The defense is anew. DC Dan Quinn has refurbished a defense the veteran players are more akin to playing and the numerous younger players will quickly adapt to. Anchoring the defense in the trenches will be a D-line with a mix of old and new pieces. DeMarcus Lawrence and Randy Gregory return as starters at DE. Featured DT Neville Gallimore will start the season on IR but is sure to return by midseason. Meanwhile, Gallimore is replaced by rookies Osa Odighizuwa and Quinton Bohanna on the interior line. The new and improved linebacker corps is the focal point of Quinn's approach to fixing the disaster of last year's defense. New additions Micah Parsons, Keanu Neal, Jabril Cox join Jaylon Smith and Leighton Vander Esh to form the linchpin with which this defense transitions from D-line to secondary. The new cornerback corps includes veterans Travon Diggs and Anthony Brown being joined by rookies Nashon Wright, Kelvin Joseph. Nickelbacks Jourdan Lewis and Maurice Canady will also be in the mix. Finishing out the defense at safety are Malik Hooker, Damontae Kazee, Kayron Kearse, and Donovan Wilson.

- The Special Teams unit is not without changes as well. Coach Fassel has added long snapper, Jake McQuaide. Veteran kicker Greg Zuerlein returns as well.

The 2021 version of the Dallas Cowboys has many new faces, especially on the defense. The coaching staff has gone to great measures to fit together this gathering of talent. When they start the season they will be facing a Championship Bucs team that features 22 returning starters.

I typically go into the season with high expectations only to be let down unless we make a play off run. I feel better about this season than I have felt in a while it seems we have some real stars potentially on each side of the ball. I still think we start sluggish, but one thing we all know its a long season 3-3 doesn't mean allot if you can stay healthy and gel then make your run mid to late season. Gonna be fun, so get your pop corn ready!

Moore sucks as an OC, were going to lose and it will be all Dak's fault? Does that about sum it up for you?

Thanks for the those great final thoughts. :lmao::lmao::lmao2::lmao2:

You are such a "visionary"!!!! :muttley:

This year will be determined by health and the jump that Quinn and the defense can make.

I’m excited for the upcoming season.

I think we have a real chance to win the division.

I would like to see improvement in Mike McCarthy’s clock management and decision making.

The exposure and excuses granted KMoore.

What does Moore need excuses for? He was leading the #1 offense in NFL history before Dak went down.

In 2019 under Dak we averaged 27 points per game and in 2020 it was up to 32 points per game.

Do you miss Garrett's and his offense?:muttley:

Moore is already known as one of the best young OC's in football.
