It's an interesting debate. This is the first year that I've seen Dak's accuracy compare to Romo. It's starting to look like Dak is on a path that will eclipse Romo, especially if he has the kind of playoff success that Romo never had. But to be fair to Romo, I don't think he ever got to play on a team that had the depth and playmaking on defense. Aikman enjoyed a few years of a dominant running game, great defense and team depth. Romo never had that that I can recall.

The Fan had a segment about how Aikman might have been high or drunk during the broadcast.

He talked at length about how fast Diggs was. (uhhhhh)
He also talked about how many snaps Jaylon Smith played for GB. (uhhhh)

Troy is one of the worst analysts in sports.

you can make all the excuses for Romo but like Parcels once said 'You are what you're record says you are'
Football is a team sport. Parcells said it about his team.

Morons that quote QB winning percentage are the stupidest fans in American sports.

I couldn't care less about how Romo compares with Dak or vice-versa. Tony Romo is retired and is no longer associated with the Cowboys, except in the personal memories of their fans. Each of the Cowboys fans have their own concepts of what Romo's legacy should be and are entitled to their opinions. Let's not argue about an issue that remains unofficial.

The same can be said of Dak, regardless of how Troy Aikman feels about their careers in his opinion. There is no set judgment due nor expected to be officially revealed as being legitimate. I think it's best for our memories to be left to the Cowboys fans as our personal opinions and images of them. To proceed to argue about it is an exercise in futility, imho.

I would agree with that. Romo getting released created a lot of the Dak hate. Some fans would have rather lost with Romo than win with Dak.
No, fans wanted the team to win and not lose in the play offs with a team that was built to beat the Falcons and reach the Superbowl. But people like to think a rookie QB is a better option than an All-pro QB in the play offs. How many rookie quarterbacks have won the Superbowl again?

What are the top 5 teams since 2000 (aikmans last)?

1. 2014
2. 2007
3. 2016
4. 2009
5. 2018

14 was their best chance. Hate the packers
We had little chance in 2014 even had we beaten the Packers as the defense was trash. Although still not very good, the 2016 had a better defense and was our better chance of reaching the Superbowl if we had overcome the Packers that year.

Prescott has had a better offensive line, running game, depth of receivers and as much as people will laugh, he has had a better defense than Romo as well. Furthermore, the rule changes have changed the game to such an extent in recent years whereby defenders can't touch the quarterback without a 15 yards penalty being added on. So before people start making sweeping statements, the above has to be considered and factored in. How many touchdowns would Dan Marino have in a modern day season? The game has changed a lot even since Romo stopped playing to the last few years. It's a QB paradise in comparison. Everyone will have their opinion which is fair enough but in reality, it's difficult to compare players unless they have played throughout the same period crossing generations like Brady, Big Ben, A-Rod, Drew Brees etc.

As other posters have stated, people should enjoy the team winning and playing well and Prescott is a big part of that.

Aikman also said Romo was a better QB than he ever was.

So why this? Is Troy angry with Romo for some reason?

He has had concussion issues. He has been sounding confused in commentary lately, mistaking players for others. I hope he's ok.

A 75 year old Tony Romo will throw a football better than Dak Prescott.

I think he’s playing at The same level as Romo in 2014 which was his best, Dak hasn’t reached his peak yet so he’ll be better when it’s all said and done

It's sad how obsessed some people are with this debate when many of us liked both of them a lot.
So if someone doesn't think exactly like you and the "many" they're sad and obsessed?

No, that is not what I said and you know it as it was obvious by the post I quoted in my reply.

I am saying debating over which is better right now is pointless because only one is still playing and neither have made it to a Super Bowl at this point.

There are many fans who liked Romo and like Dak, but the hate-filled posts that are made every time someone says something good about either is a waste given only one is still playing.

Stats are great, but Tom Brady, the GOAT quarterback, just had his first ever 400 yard game a few days ago and he was considered the best quarterback ever long before that game.
