I remember when he said Dak was only slightly better than Tebow...lol. I must have missed the part about Tebow being mentioned in the same breath as Mahomes.

Quite honestly I wonder if MM gambles on 4th down so often is because he believes the O is unstoppable and it appears unstoppable. Clean up the penalties and we roll over teams much easier...

We better red zone calls and play.

I mean...okay, Dak didn't peak at age 26. Aaron Rodgers didn't play consistently until 25. Romo didn't until 26. Brees was a bust heading into 2004 at age 25 and Brady was 24 during his magical 2001 season. So yea, Dak got better, but there was no reason to think he wouldn't continue to get better. I guess the question is, how better did he get? We'll throw out last year considering he only played in 5 games, but let's compare 2019 to 2021

8.2 YPA in 2019 vs 8.4 in 2021
1.8% INT rate in 2019 vs 1.9% in 2021
3.7% Sack Rate in 2019 vs 3.6% in 2021
5% TD Rate in 2019 vs 7.4% in 2021

He was just about as efficient in 2019 as he is now, there's been improvement, but not as much as many are trying to make it seem.

Now where he's *a lot* better is completion percentage, which jumped from 65% to 73%. But just to give this some context, that 65% was good enough for 13th and a mere 2% increase would jump him to 7th place. There's just a lot of players in the 67%-65% range. Now this year, he's behind only Kyler Murray by 0.7%. Dak losing 2% would still have him sitting at 4th overall. So all in all, he's improved here, but he was already very good in this area.
Also, weren't our receivers TERRIBLE with drops in 2019? Like lead the league bad?

possibly, but sometimes drops are a product of inaccurate passes. way too hard to go through and discern two years later. well not too hard, just more work than I plan on doing.

however the stats speak for himself. He’s throwing for a similar amount per attempt, he’s being sacked just as often and is throwing ints at a similar rate.

He’s more accurate, so he’s gone from being good in an area to great. Not the huge jump some are trying to say in order to make their past stances seem reasonable

Wanted him to be a finished product. They said he hit his ceiling in 2016….
you remember that too.

“We’ve seen Dak’s limit”

“potential”

“talent”

“not a natural passer”

A lot of these guys just wanted their qb to look physically similar to Manning or were bitter about Romo. Fortunately, winning makes everyone happy

Haha....man I've engaged in this Dak discussion for 5 years.....and you'd honestly find some of the dumbest things you could possibly think of said about Dak.

I don’t understand this take. Dak won 13 games or whatever right out the box. We pretty much didn’t have to wait at all.

The same Mike that got us to 5-1 is the same bum everyone loves to hate now……smh
rodgers last 3 years with mccarty

21-22

last 3 years without

31-7

Two NFC championship games and much less talent.

He’s being carried bro. A worse version is othis team went 13-3 with freaking Garret.
you have time to be patient when you have one of the best offensive lines. ;)
Dak under pressure according to PFF

#1 in TDs
#1 in Passer Rating
83% completion
0 Interceptions

Under pressure is the best metric to measure a QBs actually ability with no o-line. Guys like Brady, Dak, and Manning are Floyd Mayweather in the pocket.
That OT TD was the perfect example. He made 3 reads, held the DB and safety on the left due of the field with his eyes, and broke to the right between two pass rushers with 2 defenders on him for the Ceedee Bomb.

We’re in 2022 not 2016 with Zeke carrying the team! I haven’t seen a quarterback make this much of an elite jump since Brady back in 2002.

This is a super bowl year. There is no better quarterback in the NFL right now.
