If it comes between meat head Mike ,who can’t manage a game clock , or Moore we gotta get rid of the meathead.
I think this team is a better team with Big Mike at the top vs Moore, true his game management is an absolute albatross, but the accountability and hard nose 'Pittsburgh Tough' mindset has been the real difference maker this season, I'm liking the old school vibe of this team, and the chemistry is off the charts

Kellen may love Dallas but he has to take the job when it is available. Strike while the Iron is hot.
Nope, you sign on to the wrong franchise, you may never get another head coaching job, it's all about the personnel and whether the GM of said team is on the same page as you philosophy wise with regards scheme and signing and drafting players...

Kellen could be a candidate for LSU. Agreement was made to replace the coach post season.

There are so many variables in this it's really premature to even discuss it.

But since we are, do we even know if he wants to be a HC in the NFL or would he prefer a college gig? LSU and Washington State just opened up their HC jobs. He did choose being the DC OC over the Huskies so there is that evidence.

He doesn't have to do anything and he can afford to wait for the best fit, if he does want the NFL. He's got one of the best offenses in the league so he should stay in the conversation for several years.

But, let's look at this from the other side. Were Turner or Garrett able to recreate their offenses with the talent they had?

If I am an owner, I am looking at an offense loaded with 6 1st round picks including a top 2 RB tandem and top 3 WR corps and a highly rated OL not to mention a top 10 QB. How many OC's could make that work?

Now, consider his limited coaching experience and wasn't he the OC last season when he was missing his QB1? Yes, had some others missing as well but isn't that the job? Overcoming what's missing and maxing what is there?

I'm not sure if McVay is the youngest. That's my guess though
35 is pretty young for HC
but notice how the hires seem to get younger and younger after McVay came in so young and had immediate success.

Exactly. Most NFL jobs that open up are for crap franchises with little talent and a toxic culture.

Name me (a recent) OC that lost a top 10 QB and was able to keep winning.

We watched GB lose Rodgers a couple years back and immediately werte horrible.

Steelers lost Ben 3 or 4 years ago and were horrible.
Houston lost Watson this year and they are horrible on offense.
Seattle just lost Wilson and what do you know, the offense isnt looking stellar.
The fact is EVERY single offensive coach that has an explosive offense has an explosive QB.

Bellamy in KC is now a guru also... he has Mahomes, T. Hill, and Kelce...... amazing how that works.

Let the Packers lose Rodgers and watch how pedestrian Devante Adams becomes.

Antonio Brown was by far the most explosive WR in football for the first X amount of games a few years back, Big Ben went down and Brown wasnt even startable as a WR3 in fantasy the very next week.

which is why Urban Meyer waited to come to the NFL strangely at the exact same time a blue chip QB was dropping in his lap.

Keep in mind that any time a new coach is selected or player is signed, it's always "He's who we wanted all along." Nobody will admit that they settled for their second or third choice.
Yeah I took the info with a grain of salt.

There is a whole lot more to being head coach than calling plays.

Kellen Moore can call plays for a stacked offensive team. Okay. I think there are probably about 100 coordinators out there who would be successful with this offense. What else does he do well?

If Moore would become a head coach, who would be on his coaching staff? Who would be calling plays?

Urban Meyer's NFL career dissipation light is full on red.
thats because we live in a ridiculous world of expectations. Jimmy Johnson had Aikman in his first year and they were 1-15. Its a good thing Jimmy didnt get hired in 2021.

In 50 years of watching NFL football, I have never seen a HC not take a flight home from a game with the team to hang out in his hometown.

I do not disagree with that.
Conversely, Ive been watching the NFL since 1976 and I have NEVER seen a head coach go for it on 4th and 1 from their own 34 yard line on the first possession of the game like McCarthy did.

I knew that was coming. :muttley:
well?????
Is it deserved? His team letting us comeback last year against thme by that ridiculous onside kick,,..... could you imagine if he was already the coach of the Cowboys and his team did that? pretty sure youd probably be screaming he should be fired. But somehow youd now like him as a HC?
