There are so many variables in this it's really premature to even discuss it.
But since we are, do we even know if he wants to be a HC in the NFL or would he prefer a college gig? LSU and Washington State just opened up their HC jobs. He did choose being the DC OC over the Huskies so there is that evidence.
He doesn't have to do anything and he can afford to wait for the best fit, if he does want the NFL. He's got one of the best offenses in the league so he should stay in the conversation for several years.
But, let's look at this from the other side. Were Turner or Garrett able to recreate their offenses with the talent they had?
If I am an owner, I am looking at an offense loaded with 6 1st round picks including a top 2 RB tandem and top 3 WR corps and a highly rated OL not to mention a top 10 QB. How many OC's could make that work?
Now, consider his limited coaching experience and wasn't he the OC last season when he was missing his QB1? Yes, had some others missing as well but isn't that the job? Overcoming what's missing and maxing what is there?
Name me (a recent) OC that lost a top 10 QB and was able to keep winning.
We watched GB lose Rodgers a couple years back and immediately werte horrible.
Steelers lost Ben 3 or 4 years ago and were horrible.
Houston lost Watson this year and they are horrible on offense.
Seattle just lost Wilson and what do you know, the offense isnt looking stellar.
The fact is EVERY single offensive coach that has an explosive offense has an explosive QB.
Bellamy in KC is now a guru also... he has Mahomes, T. Hill, and Kelce...... amazing how that works.
Let the Packers lose Rodgers and watch how pedestrian Devante Adams becomes.
Antonio Brown was by far the most explosive WR in football for the first X amount of games a few years back, Big Ben went down and Brown wasnt even startable as a WR3 in fantasy the very next week.
