Yeah I agree 100% with what you said. Diggs presents a chess match with the QB and the offensive coordinator. It's kind of like a game within the game. So far Diggs has been winning that game. I'm all for opposing teams testing him cuz with his confidence and receiver like hands it's a test Diggs will win. He's fun to watch and he gives this defense swagger that it has really lacked the last 20 years. Diggs, Gregory and Parsons have changed the mentality of the defense. It's really been fun this year.

Someone could pick apart every CBs interceptions and say the same thing. Diggs has battled for the ball and won on s few of his INTs this year. He also almost had another possible pick 6 vs the giants and the wr fought it out of his hands at the last second. This isn’t luck.

these types of articles are dumb. They can say Emmitt wasn’t that good because his OL was great. They can say Rice wasn’t that good because Montana was great.

When the author uses the work "luck" or "lucky" insert the work "skill".
Diggs ain't lucky--he uses coverage skill, excellent eye-hand coordination, body positioning technique, & a wide receiver instinct/expertise in intercepting passes.

Attributing a professional athlete production to simply 'luck' is a lazy analysis.

You could attribute a pick or two to luck, I suppose. But I've never been a big believe in anyone having consistent luck. And, quite frankly, you don't get many picks in the NFL by luck alone. We've had some tremendous athletes at CB that Lady Luck absolutely ignored.

For a CB to get picks he has to have the skills, be in the right place at the right time and have the mindset to go get the ball. In return, they will occasionally misjudge one of those things and give up a big play. In my mind, it's worth it. A long TD pass is great for the offense. But interceptions are demoralizing. More than that, interceptions lift the players around you. Look at Brown. In my mind, I don't think he gets the pick if he isn't watching Diggs eating teams alive. That kind of play and attitude rubs off.

Diggs is crafty with great instincts. I think he is a game film junky and not just upcoming opponents. He likely studies the best that played and self scouts. He does get beaten once in a while, but that is not unusual for a CB. Of course he is going to take advantage of poor throws and receiver mistakes, those should be the easy ones.

i think he was a former WR who knows route tree and knows what QBs want to do on down and distance. he also from what i read over the summer likes to work with his brother and other wr not only on cb work but wr work as well he’s a tape watching junkie. i think you combine all of that and there is your reason for success. now the getting beat. last game was Kazee out of position. the game before he had NO safety help over the top and looked like a busted play. i want to see how he grows the rest of the year, before labeling him a feast or famine CB or a lucky CB

He reads the QB and jumps routes and takes educated gambles based on what he sees. Of course he'll get burned on double moves from time to time but he also has great closing speed and ball skills.

The TD against the Pats showed exactly this. A double move where he was able to close and play underneath. To me, it looked like he and Kazee both made a business decision on that play. Had they both gone up for that ball, there would've been a big collision.

Both. The way the ball bounces is luck. The last int the ball bounced off the receiver too him but it was Diggs skill with his hands that secured the ball and his feet took it to the house. It's not always easy, brown dropped an int that came to him. It happens all the time and some DB's lack the skills to catch the opportunity. Diggs does not, that is the difference.

Yeah, I don’t think it’s flukey. He gets to the ball and has always been downright obsessed with intercepting it. He uses his knowledge of route and offensive scheme to correctly guess where the ball is headed, and he has outstanding ball skills. I think even if he has an unusually high number of interceptions this year, it will still be at or near league-high each season.

luck happens to the prepared....diggs puts himself in the right place and when enough plays happen, then he is there to take advantage. he has focused on his hands, opportunities to look for the ball and make sure he catches it.....

One of his greatest attributes is the ball way, way more often than not stays in his hands when it hits them. That’s not been the case with most Dallas DBs in recent years. Brown doesn’t have 7 INTs even if he has the exact same opportunities. Probably more like 4.

i think its a litttle luck maybe but the great players most times make their own luck i am just glad he is doing it for the dallas cowboys i think he really works hard to be really good at what he does

If Kazee wasn’t there, that’s Diggs second pick in as many snaps. He clearly pulled up to let Kazee have that one - a “mistake” he likely won’t make again.

He’s clearly very talented
The interceptions are a combination of talent and good play and luck
His getting beat is lack of experience. He’ll get better as he gains more experience and understand what is happening better and get beat less

He looks like Lester Hayes out there. Long arms, great understanding and instincts. Swagger. Yeah, there is some luck in everything we do, but this guy is earning it.
