This actually makes us sort of thin at the L position. We don't play our depth backers a ton of snaps, and Cox had only played 9 snaps on D all year, but we're still thin with only LVE, Micah, Keanu and Gifford. We don't even have another LB on the practice squad. Francis Bernard is getting healthy at just the right time, we won't need a ton of defensive snaps from him but he should be able to fill some ST snaps that Cox leaves open.

It would be interesting to see if he could make the switch from DE to LB? He played as a stand-up DE at Kansas but even as an edge LB. He has the size (6'4", 235 lbs) and speed (4.55 40 time) to potentially become a weapon at LB if he can improve on his twitch, hip flex and cutting ability.

Im hoping the Gifford can step up as well. Suck losing Cox because LVE is gone next season. He is playing like he's the last of the old defensive regime. Sucks. I bought his jersey.

Didnt Cox suffer an ACL tear in College? Sure sucks the kid was coming on.
I don't know what has happened to LVE but he just looks slow out there. He made a few good tackles hopefully he steps up his game.

Absolutely love this kid and don’t understand why we haven’t played him more, but he’s played what, a dozen snaps on defense this year? It’s a STs hit and we can find someone there to replace him.

I hope for him and for us he’s ready to roll next year. Really like this kids potential. Tough way to end the year if it’s an ACL. Hopefully it’s something minor instead.

That sucks. I just stated on Friday how thin we actually are at LB, now even ore so. I think it maybe time to make a trade. We need a proven MLB (with some size) to push LVE to be better, or off the field.
Gallup, CWill, McGovern, Nsekhe, who else? could be potential trade pieces.

I thought Jabril would be starting alongside Micah as the LBs next season, and that still might happen...but McClay will definitely draft a LB and sign a decent FA in the off-season.
